well basically find really nice art and sigh at it.. but there's so much! :S and I am confused by all the technical buttons

Well on the home page, you can look at either the newest stuff or the most popular stuff, the buttons for those are on the right. If you scroll down to the bottom there's the Daily Deviations, those are usually pretty good. If you go to the Today page, (click the "more" button with the two down arrows in the upper right, look around till you find Today) you can see stuff that was recently favorited, all the popular journals and stuff, and the deviants who are getting the most pageviews.
