Naaaah. I live in Mexico, but that doesn't sound even half as cool as Antarctica does.

Y'know, now that I think about it, I don't think many people in Antarctica would frequent dA. Hmmm...

*feels very dumb*

they do have internet access via satellite, therefore i thought that it was completely plausible.

*still feels dumb for thinking that you lived in Antarctica*

Well yeah, but since there are no permanent settlements in Antarctica, only research stations, I figured that very few researchers would like to indulge in visiting dA... then again, who am I to say what a researcher does or doesn't do. Eh.

TheSylverLining [2010-08-05 19:05:02 +0000 UTC]

;____; I am so ashamed. My Spanish has failed meeee. And I figured you would understand/facepalm harder than anyone.

My mom and I are staying with my dad in a hotel now while we're here in Maryland. And the housekeeping ladies were here, who evidently only spoke Spanish. The important thing here is that I was asleep and my parents were out when they opened the door, so I woke up to strange people coming into the hotel room, talking loudly.

I kind of scream and fall off the bed, which scares the hell out of them - then I hear Spanish, still sleeping brain goes "I KAN SPEEK DAT", and I crawl back up going "ah, Dio, lo siento, mi falta!". Then they must have thought I WASN'T AN IDIOT SPOILER: they were wrong because they start talking to me (in Spanish, about we're so sorry, we didn't mean to scare you) and I'm thinking "OH MY GOD I DON'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH YET."

And the weird thing is, when I'm that half-asleep/retarded, I can MOSTLY UNDERSTAND THEM but CAN'T THINK OF WHAT... WORDS ARE. WHAT ARE WORDS? I THINK WORDS ARE WHAT YOU MAKE WITH YOUR MOUTH.

And then on top of this I remember my mom (who I was sharing a bed with) saying "YOU STEAL ALL THE BLANKETS, ask for another one!" so I kind of go "AHA!" all proud of myself that I remembered, and then this happens:

Me: AHAAAA!!!1one
Ladies:
Me: "Mi mama, necesita..." *forgets how to say 'blanket'*

*HOW THE FUCK DO YOU SAY BLANKET*

*FORGETS EVERYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH TALKING IN ANY LANGUAGE EVER*

...

"UH - UH... necesito..."

Sylver's Brain -

"Necesito... dormir." "NO HABLO... INGLES."

Lady: "...No hablas... Espanol?"

Me: ;___; "Nooooo."

Ladies: *lolololol*

So then after brilliantly telling them I didn't speak English, I ended up waiting out in the hall in my jammies while they got another lady who spoke some English ("LILY! venga se dirigen a esta muchacha!") and I gots a blanket and then for some reason got a text from my friend Nick asking if I was on meth.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT CAME FROM
BUT IT WAS STRANGELY APPROPRIATE.

Um yeah that was my WTF MORNING adventure. Now I feel like a stupid American who needs to go back to kindergarten and LEARN
HOW TO SAY
BLANKEEEEEEEEEETTTT. D:

... That is all. :>

Oh god, oh... BFFFFFF... BFFFHAAAAAHAHAHAHA. Oh my god sorry it's just- pppfffffaaahaha, oh my oh oh oh ha, ah haa... heeeehehehe.

Okay okay, I'm done. Sorry about that, it's just... just too funny. But honestly, I don't blame you, I get the half-asleep retardedness often too. Sometimes I'll be half awake but still think I'm dreaming and start rambling incoherenty to the people in my dream. Then I'll realize I've been yelling to some pillow on my bed.

Besides, being forced to speak in another language you don't speak that well all of a sudden is mighty fucked up. D: I remember thathappening to me often when I was in Quebec, when I ended up mumbling retardedly because I wan't even halfway in French mode. Or that time at the school library when I was minding my own business, putting books back where they belong and shit, when all of a sudden this dude comes up to me and starts speaking in Swedish and I'm like "BUH- BUH- BUH- BNNNNNNGH".

Also, for further reference you can say "cobija" or "sΓ‘bana". The former is a really thick blanket (I can't remember if those have a specific name in English), the latter is lighter. Or "cobertor". C:

How do you manage to have such amusing stuff happen to you? The most interesting I get is getting lost at school, and that shit ain't even half fun.

:< Oh, yer hiding yer comments here, I just saw that. WELL, in any case, I feel I should tell you that I had a very strange series of dreams last night. One of them involved you and I watching Star Trek: Nemesis in my basement, then wondering where we could get some Alice in Wonderland sexy cosplay. Then you were like "HAY U WANNA HAVE SEXYTIMES?" and I was like "...D: I LIKE GIRLS. ALSO I'M SCARED." and you were like "... ME TOO." so we cuddled and read from this REALLY FREAKY little kid book that I had as a child that scared me then and STILL scares me now. It involved Jesus "coming to take you home" when you were sick and in the hospital, and had a drawing of a dead child's limp hand.

AND THAT'S WHAT GOES ON IN MY SLEEPING HEAD. YOU WERE THERE. <3

TheSunAndTheRainfall In reply to TheSylverLining [2010-07-02 23:52:03 +0000 UTC]

Oooooh, noooonononono. I'm just hiding comments that go THANKS FOR THE LLAMA etc, 'cause honestly, I find them a tad bothersome. I'm still up for every other kind of comment.

EVEN MORE SO WHEN IT'S THIS KIND OF COMMENT. Now that is one pretty bizarre dream. I mean, it's not like sexy cosplay>sexytiem request>request refusal>cuddling and freaky book reading is a common sequence of events. Is it wrong that I think that's kind of awkward? Like, funny awkward? And at the same time kinda sweet and adorable? Also, Alice in Wonderland cosplay sounds like a lot of fun.

BUT I'M STILL AMAZED AT HOW WEIRD YOUR DREAMS ARE. 'Cause it's not like they're super far fetched, it's more like... more normal stuff connected in super bizarre ways. BUT THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM SO FUN. I wish you could like share dreams mind to mind with other people. Last night I dreamt my sister and I were being chased by some Hork-Bajir in a super futuristic version of my city, it was so cool.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSylverLining In reply to TheSunAndTheRainfall [2010-07-03 00:09:55 +0000 UTC]

OH OKAY, I do that too. <3 Don't worry!

And yeah. xD That dream was so fun and yes ttly awkward-adorables! And yeah, my dreams are often like that. Like combining the everyday with WTF IS THIS - like ALSO last night, the dream that I had that didn't involve you was two of my characters, Rose and Danae (OHOHO COINCIDENCE?) going to high school with Toad from X-Men, and being mad that he was more popular than they were.

But DOOOOOD. Being chased by Hork-Bajir through futuristic city?! FREAKIN' WIN. (Speaking of, I just re-read The Hork-Bajir Chronicles. x3 I... cried. I FREELY ADMIT IT. WHAAAT, it's just so effing SAD. )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSunAndTheRainfall In reply to TheSylverLining [2010-07-03 00:44:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh lawd. Aaaaah that X-Men academy! I gotta figure out how to dream about that, it would soooo end up in so much win!

NO WAY! I just finished readin The Hork-Bajir Chronicles like... yesterday, for the first time! And yes, I wholeheartedly agree, it really was sad. I find that most Chronicles are just too sad. They always leave me feeling down after I finish reading them. Especially the Ellimist Chronicles, that one also disturbs me a little. D:

Especially that bit with Father, the giant underwater octopus sponge creature that like... possessed all of the Ellimist's ship crew and they were dead but their brains and thus their memories and personalities were still alive and it was just so depressing how he could still reach to them but they were still dead but not really dead and trapped underwater with the hollow being that is Father for the rest of eternity. That shit was really disturbing.

TheSylverLining In reply to TheSunAndTheRainfall [2010-07-03 02:15:49 +0000 UTC]

IT WOULD BE. <3 I'm still waiting for my invite to the Xavier Institute. My letter from Hogwarts got lost in the mail when I was eleven, but I'm convinced Professor X will contact me as soon as he wakes up from his coma and averts the horrible future in the Age of Apocalypse.

And DUUUUDE YES. ;___; Just - just watching the entire Hork-Bajir race become just so... AGH. They were so SWEET, they were tree-herders (LOL LOTR REFERENCE, I see what you did there Ms. Applegate!), they didn't need any of this SHIT, they just... wanted to eat bark and play. And now.. BAAAWWW.

I gotta say, weird random things in stories occasionally GET ME, things that wouldn't affect other people so much. Like... the first time that I actually cried in that book was - okay ye know how the different Hork-Bajir villages would communicate with one another, drawing a bow across huge strings in the trees, that was essentially a huge awesome cello? Well that concept was SO beautiful to me, I loved it so much (I'M MUSICAL. xD Ye know this) - and then reading that the Yeerks made their first pool out of one of those trees... cut it down and destroyed it and burned it out and made a POOL out of something so gorgeous. It really made me just put down the book and CRY.

... I love cellos.

ANYWAY.

I haven't actually read the Ellimist Chronicles! Holy crap! I HAVE TO GET THIS. And yeah that sounds INCREDIBLY disturbing. Animorphs is seriously, truly, unsettling and dark and deep at its core. I love it. <3 It is so much MORE than a childrens' series about kids turning into animals. <3

TheSunAndTheRainfall In reply to TheSylverLining [2010-07-03 04:25:23 +0000 UTC]

I KNOOOOWWWWW. Oh god, I totally was expecting a Hogwarts letter to arrive at any minute when I turned eleven. I believed it with all my heart. Then it didn't arrive and it was all BAAAAWWWWW and the child in me died a little that day.

Y'know, I've never cried to a book (or movie, but Toy Story 3 came soooo close to making me weep like a baby), but I totally get where you're coming from. I love little details like that too, the kind that just make me go AAAAWWWWWW and break my heart a little and some days I'll think about them for some time at night and I'll still feel the same way about them. At that point you mentioned in the book I was seriously pissed off. When all those Hork-Bajir started chanting "do as he does!" I was like YEAH KILL THE MOTHERFUCKERS. >:C Assholes.

Yeah, it still is pretty disturbing to me. D: Actually, I remember they first (and only, derp) time I read the Ellimist Chronicles, I read it at night, and right before I read the very last book in the proper series. I knew something happened that put the Ellimist Chronicles somewhere in context with The Beginning. And I was so deeply disturbed by what I mentioned to you, and by the realization of the sheer extent of the Ellimist's power, and how depressing the background of the Ellimist and Crayak's role in the human-yeerk war was, that when I finished it I had so many mixed feelings about the whole thing, it was just too much. Maybe too much explained, or something. Like this tight feeling in your gut that you get after going through something really intense.

Then I downed the last book in one sitting and what with Rachel dying, and Ax being absorbed by this super entity K.A. pulled out of her ass at the last minute, and the most ultimate cliffhanger ending of any series ever I put it down was just like OH FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Then when I calmed down a bit I was like MAN, I'M TOTALLY NOT GONNA SLEEP TONIGHT. Not many book series have done that to me. D:

And OH GOD YES. I love how the series gets progressively darker as it advances, and everyone starts falling apart and things just get really, really serious. I think it starts getting super intense with the whole David ordeal, after Jake sends Ax to fetch Rachel before the episode at the mall, and...

wait, I'm so getting carried away with all this. Aaaah, sorry I just love getting geeky with this kind of things.

D: AHHH AHH I have heard that Toy Story 3 is so sad, but I don't know why and I do not WANT to know why until I see iiiit. If it is spoiled for me by the interwebs I shall be pissed. (Not at you, don't worry. xD Ye didn't. I just... hate spoilers. HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX WAS RUINED FOR ME, and I have never forgiven the Neopets message boards for that. xD)

I srsly need to read The Ellimist Chronicles. :< Like nao. NAO. I shall find. Or is it online with the rest of the Animorphs books? That'd be AWESOME.

That cliffhanger NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED for me. And many other fans, I know, we have deemed it UN-CANON, it never effing HAPPENED. I mean what the HELL, Applegate, you can't give us this wonderful realistic conclusion to the war and aftermath and then TOTALLY PULL A GINORMOUS SPACE-SATAN out of your ASS and - WHAT. NO. NO. Does not compute. We do not accept. No. Fail. We are just removing those last 20 pages from Animorphs canon, and all will be well.

And DUDE, it is OKAY. xD Ranting about geeky things is one of my favorite things evar! <3

TheSunAndTheRainfall In reply to TheSylverLining [2010-07-03 06:00:54 +0000 UTC]

I... don't think Toy Story 3 was exactly sad. More like, just really touching. Is there a difference? I dunno, maybe I'm just too attached to the characters that watching them go through all that shit makes me go all BAAAAWWWWWW. Or maybe I'm projecting, or something.

DO EEEEET! PS, if you can't find it I'll be glad to send it to you.

Alright, I think I'll do the same, haha. For the sake of my sanity and my love for the series. Y'know, when I finished reading it I started reading some of the fan sequels but they just didn't cut it. They had some good ideas, but... they just came across as too forced, y'know? I'd love it if Applegate gave it a proper conclusion, but really, that's just not gonna happen so... sadness all over.

Alright, I think I'll just revel in my geekiness for a while, then. MMMMYAAH!
