Yeah it's been a while since I've read your work and those struck me as the best. They're distinct... memories... clear at times and vague enough when they need to be. I'll get to the movie soon enough. :) (Smile) Thanks.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them. The two you liked felt really natural and enjoyable to write. Lots of the other stuff on there was forced out because I had word counts and a criteria to meet. It was hard work.

I really like the allegory you use in many of your poems. I've been using more of it lately, though it's not something that comes easily for me at least.

Hmm, I think allegory is just about the only thing I can do! I struggle to write things in which I cannot pour loads of my own meaning.
Have you read 'The Impressionist' by Hari Kunzru? I started reading it for my ' Wink/Razz olitics of Identity and Subjectivity' course and I'm completely addicted. The imagery is stunning and the plot is captivating. I really recommend it and I'm desperate for someone else to read it too! =) (Smile)

Thanks! I haven't; I just ordered it from amazon. I'll let you know when I'm finished with it. :) (Smile) Sounds like a really good course, is it like Ethics in politics/power structures (Foucault)?

Yes, lots of Foucault and knowledge is power, but also looking at race, gender, nationalism, sexuality etc. It's really interesting. My next assignment due in a few weeks time is to produce a piece on my own identity and it can take pretty much any form. I'm quite excited but no idea where I'm going with it yet.
Yay! I'm glad you've ordered it. I haven't got to the end yet and I've had to postpone it because I have to read Hardy's 'The Woodlanders' by next Wednesday... not quite as thrilling but I'm going to force myself through it. =) (Smile)

Hi how are you doing?
Long time since I heard from you (n u from me :P (Lick) ).
So hows life treating u?
Life in England is great! I love the atmosphere in my little horsie town. The people here are wonderful, and it couldnt be better. The only bad thing I been through so far is that I got injured when coming off a horse. It wasnt really the fall itself, but the fact that I was sent straight in under the horse in front of me. I got my arm badly tramped and the neck scratched. So Ive been off work for 6 weeks!! Quite boring actually. My arm is ok now, but it will have a dent where the bicep should be (left arm). Finally back in the saddle again, yay!
