Get either Chespin or Froakie.  Then get Squirtle if you chose Chespin or Bulbasaur if you chose Froakie.  Get the Torchik mystery gift.  There, now you've covered all of your Water, Grass, and Fire-type weaknesses.  FYI, Blastoiseite/Venusaurite and Blazikenite will allow those Pokémon to Mega Evolve. I would recommend Talonflame or Pidgeot for your HM Fly, and Blastoise or Greninja can learn Surf/Waterfall.  And Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon are always good, too.

Be sure to catch Xerneas/Yvetal (legendaries are always nice) and try to get Zygarde and Mewtwo.  Also, attempt to find Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos (Articuno if you picked Chespin, Moltres if you picked Froakie, and Zapdos if you picked Fenniken, I think).

I got a Chespin in Y and a Froakie in X.  I already beat the game; it's really easy.  BTW, they don't make legendaries like they used to.  I caught Yvetal with a Poké Ball, Xerneas with a Great Ball, Mewtwo in both games with a Poké Ball, and Zygarde with a Poké Ball on the first try on both games.  Too easy!

Yeah,some legendary pokemon are sometimes easy to get. For example,I got a Raikou with a dusk ball in pokemon HeartGold and a victini with a pokeball in Pokemon White.
