As I've told a reviewer on FF, I can't exactly control when (or if) I'll ever get back into the fandom, nor can I control what prompts me to do so. The only reason I don't put my stories up for adoption is because I know that they're not going to keep it on the path that I've already chosen... that, or they'll change things completely or add in OCs that end up taking all the attention away from the canon characters that the story was originally centered around. I think I'd rather have the stories remain unfinished rather than have someone else pick it up and completely destroy the plot line that I put together. (It might not seem like it, but there is, in fact, a method to my madness.)
And I shouldn't get tired of MCR anytime soon. Expect some curve balls...

Yeah, I get that. Don't take this as me asking to adopt(shit, I barely have time for MY stories)but I personally would've asked the author what they had planned for the storyline, and try to follow it. I wouldn't do anything to the story the author didn't already have planned, because I know from personal experiance that authors drop stories for lack of time/motivation, but usually know what they wanted to happen. So your madness does make perfect sense, because I have three unfinished stories for the same reason.
BUT YAY MCR. I recently started doing things with my (pssh, 3-4 year old?) Killjoys. I made them right after DD came out, obsessed over them for six months, then they shut off like a lightswitch. Now I'm digging up old bios and re-designing them a bit, because I want to start working with them again.

Yeah, I saw her on your MCR site profile, Cellophane Diamond. I'm actually sort of planning a story, but I haven't decided if I'm going to actually put the original Killjoys in it or not. I have an idea for one where its after the Original's supposed deaths, but more and more rebels are determined to have their name live on, and my little group is one of them. I also had an idea for an unrelated one where they aren't dead, everyone knows it, but no one really knows where they are, so the group takes it upon themselves to find them.
I don't like OCs to just take over the spotlight, but I think they're a fun addition if you do it right.

OCs can actually be quite believable as canon characters. I've read fics where these OCs act like they actually came from the Killjoy universe and it's just incredible.

Yeah, I've found one or two like that, but I feel like the quality of a lot of writing has dropped on FF, as any old dumbass is just posting whatever on there, but you can find some really good ones of you look hard enough.
Do you have any suggestions? The only really fucking spectacular one I know of is One Small Spark , which was almost the death of me the first time around, so I thought it would be a good idea to read it again recently, which is why I've brought back my Killjoys. It's long though.
That being said, I should probably post something with said Killjoys, if nothing else to have some point of reference in case I lose it in the future again.

Yeah. There are writers there that have good ideas, but the impact of the story is lost completely since they don't have a basic understanding of grammar (and it's worse when said language is their first language). Then there are those who just half-ass it without bothering to put together a storyline. FF has really gone to crap, anyway, and I've really gotten tired of receiving reviews that don't help my writing at all.
Sparks and Dead Scene are both really great (and relatively short) series. They feature some pretty minor OCs, and she did it really well. They didn't take up too much screen time, and they all are absolutely perfect for a Danger Days setting.

Yeah, you were right, those were really good. Sparks, though was definitely my favorite. I also love that pretty much all of the OCs weren't even Killjoys, and the focus was always completely on the cannon's. I ended up watching her.
And yeah, FF is kind of getting on my nerves, too. All the time, it's "that was so good, you should write more" or "please keep writing i wish i was as good as you", even with the grammar that bad. I usually cringe to see the story icon next to the names of those comments, pretty much horrified right away at the mess of typos they must have. I mean, I'm not perfect, I know mine have typos, but jesus fucking christ LEARN HOW TO USE GRAMMAR. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN LEARNING THAT IN SCHOOL SINCE YOU COULD HOLD A CRAYON. I also hate it when that "please keep writing" bit comes up. No, I was going to completely abandon this without warning, but your illiterate comment just motivated me to finish the whole thing.

I could not agree more. A few weeks back, I had to change my email for FF because the one I was using then got hacked, and I decided to check the recent reviews I've gotten on some of my stories. I received one (semi-illiterate) review from someone that said it was "unfair" that I have not updated and suggested that I finish the story up within the next chapter or so. I went off on this fucker, since that is no way to get me to update. I don't write for the fandom. I write for myself, since it's something I enjoy doing. I've lost motivation, and I'm not going to half-ass a plot that I risked putting out there.

By this point, I only even post on there anymore because there's actually quite a few people who read my stories, and despite the BS on the site, I can't ask them to pack up and move to another site to appease me. I enjoy what I write, so as long as I only post and only read the stories I have already followed, I can tolerate the place. Once I lose those things, I'm probably going to stop using it.
And yeah, I get that. I do have a story on another that I write oneshots upon request, but aside from that, I have never been one to write to appease an audience. You came to me to enjoy what I do for how I do it. If you decide you don't like it anymore, or want it different, I'm not going to change it to suit you. No one is making you read my writing, go away if you don't like it.

Exactly. I'm not going to force anyone to read my new stuff, but people need to accept that I've moved on. If you can't deal with it, then that's your problem. There is a life outside of fan fiction. I happen to have quite a busy personal life, so it's not always easy to update my stories.
