I've been working in Electrical Trades most of my Life so I'm very interested in it! X3 I've actually got my Apprenticeship already because my Papa (Grandfather) has been training me! I'm hoping for a full-ride scholarship for an Associates at my local Community College. But I have to work extra hard for it!
So tell me more about yourself, I know very little about you as it is XD;;

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-11 03:54:14 +0000 UTC]

Ooo~ Good luck on the scholarship.
I've got my Electrical Trainee license two years ago but didn't renew due to not being able to afford to.
I've been interested in electricity for...ever. I believe.
It started with my fascination for lightning and thunderstorms then morphed into me helping my father build lamps and watching him fix the house electrical system.
When I was 8 I tried using a pair of metal scissors to cut a wire from a light switch that had it's face plate taken off so they (parents) could paint.
Let's just say that didn't end well.
Umm... My work history is littered with waitressing, Being a professional Chef for 2 years, odd jobs like car washing, house cleaning, janitorial for businesses and schools, cafeteria lady at a high school, and being the dining hall manager at a camp along with many other things.
I have a plethora of siblings and cousins and half siblings that are also cousins. My dad was married three times and my mother three times as well. No wait, four. She recently married my uncle (dad's brother) for a year and then just finished divorcing him.
I live in the middle of no where. My nearest neighbor is further than a potato cannon's ammo throw away. I collect knives and have 3 dogs and 3 cats. There is a train that runs through the back of my two acre property that I live on and my dream house will one day be built on Sesame Street (Yes, it exists and is only a short walk away from where I live) and I do plan to petition to get the address 123 or 12345 Sesame Street.
I am currently doing graphic design classes online to occupy my time while I save up to buy a car so that I can get to work in the electrical field. I'm a hobbyist in jewelry making and clay working and I'm not the greatest artist, but I'm improving.
I love playing Sims and other games like Digimon, pokemon, Megaman legends, Need for Speed, WoW (though not lately, can't afford) and a few others.
Uh...I'm rambling. Anyways, what about you?

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-13 04:53:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh goodness, that is quite the life you lead~<3

I spend most of my time either in school, at home, or in church. I'm really just a hermit when it comes to the outside world (despite my social nature). I can't remember exactly when or how my Papa did it, but one day he convinced my Cousin Brock (This name is kind of funny due to the fact that my last name is Brock, while his first name is Brock) and I to start going to residential Jobs with him and wiring outlets. Next thing I knew, I was taking classes in High School and blowing even the teachers away. Personally, I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to saving money and making sure I have funds for nearly any scenario (emergency speaking) and in this day and age where electricity is always used, an Electrician will always have a job! ;D
My own Parents are recently Divorced; Mom was arrested for Drug Trafficking last year so my Dad and I have been living together pretty smoothly. (Mom shook things up quite often, you see.) I'm the youngest of my Siblings, 2 Brothers and 1 Sister. While I don't usually consider them or call them by this title, they are legally my 'half' siblings considering none of us have the same Father. A Sibling is still a sibling regardless. My Sister is Married with 2 Children, doing online college courses. My Older Brother just returned from a 2 year Mission trip to Brazil. And finally, my 2nd elder brother is in Mississippi for Rehab (even I'm not completely sure for what XD;; )
I believe in the Renaissance mentality. Human's can do anything they strive hard enough towards. Not to mention my favorite quote about the Jack of all Trades; "Jack-of-all-Trades; Master of None; But oft times better than a Master of One." I try to do my best in everything, and due to my competitive and obsessive nature, I end up fairly proficient in many things in short periods of time. I figure that's why Video Games are so attractive to me and why I rarely leave the house. "Must get better at Assassin's Creed..."
I live in quickly growing town because we're so close to a Military Base. Our School population jumped 200-300 students in the past few years, so even though we put up a new building recently, we still need another for comfortable transfers between classes.
I'm a bit of a Memerobiliac...I use seemingly random objects and connect them to memories for sentimental value. It's a bit of a problem during spring cleaning, but if it isn't thrown away, then it usually ends up on my wall! XD
I own 2 dogs, a German Shepard and a Chihuahua. The German Shepard is about a year and a half while the Chihuahua is most likely over 6 years old. My Birthday is on the 15th, and I'll be turning 18. I don't have my Driver's license, or even a permit, because I don't have glasses. (The video gaming has left me with 20/70 vision so I'm far from blessed when it comes to vision!)
When it comes to Video Games, I'm pretty open as long as the game keeps me interested. But my guilty pleasure has to be Multiplayer Fighting Games. I go absolutely nuts over them! You know about Final Fantasy Dissidia, right? I've logged over 900+ hours on it. I feel like I should be ashamed, but all my characters are level 100 and all their Story Modes are 100% Complete! ;D The prequel will be coming out on March 22nd, so I'll be continuing my Hermit streak!
It was only fair that I return your reply with something of equal length~<3

Sorry it's taken so long to reply, I've been extremely busy! Today we had a Youth Service, where we played the music and did the Drama, and preached the sermon. (I played guitar! ;D) Now things will quiet down for a little~

How went your weekend?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-21 22:50:11 +0000 UTC]

My weekend was good. A little snow, a lot of rain and no internet. As I'm typing this I have sushi in the oven (it's clay, not food) I went to church on Sunday and enjoyed helping the little ones with their crafts and passing out candy for memorized bible verses. Finally got the internet back up today so I'm checking all my mail and stuff.

That's cool that you know how to play the guitar and play it at youth service. I wish I was able to play an instrument, but alas, no rhythm and stubbly fingers. And yay for quieting down!

Hmm, I live in southern California, how about you?

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-21 23:34:24 +0000 UTC]

On the opposite coast; North Carolina~

I took guitar classes about 5 or 6 years ago, but never did anything with it. These past few months I started again and have gotten much better! Although most of my song repertoire revolves around video game theme songs, I've memorized a lot of chords and can play nearly all of our churches worship songs.

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-22 03:52:13 +0000 UTC]

I can pluck out "Smoke on the water" and maybe "Hot Cross Buns" on the guitar, otherwise I just randomly strum and place my fingers in random spots. That is the extent of my guitar abilities. But kudos to you, It's great to see people using their talents in ministry. My talents that I use in ministry is my craft skills to make crafts for the kids and also my organizational skills. Like sorting things and what not.

And that's so cool, I've always wanted to live on the east coast. Though, NC is a little too far south for me. I think ideally I'd like to live up in Canada, or really, really close to the border so that I could drive over and see it all the time.

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-22 11:05:47 +0000 UTC]

Well the only part that really works out is that we live extremely close to a military base. (The recession is apparently none-existent.) The abundance of marines assures that all girls coming out of high school will have a douche-bag to marry, and the lack of common sense allows them to all cheat on one another with one another. I'm a bit of pessimist when it comes to my high school relationships, but that's just me XD. I much rather prefer older women or at least mature women...so now that I'm 18 I'll be scouring high and low for cougar bars!

But enough of THAT~ Where did you learn your craft skills?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-22 12:10:04 +0000 UTC]

I learned origami in 3rd grade when I found a book on it in the school library. After that I didn't really look into any other craft skills for a while, I was a bit tomboyish and was out building forts and tumbling down hills. I did try to carve a sword out of a tree branch once. But I didn't let the wood dry first so it cracked and warped.

I started to get into clay and wire working around....18 or 19. I'd tried sewing and failed at that, so I was looking around for sewing tutorials and found a clay charm tutorial and was immediately was sucked in. I just started looking at tutorials and pictures everywhere. I'm pretty good at "deconstructing" or replication. Lots of failures and wasted materials along the way, but I'm feeling fairly competent now. I remember one week I was blizzarded in and had no internet, but tons of saved images on my computer of clay things, so I spent the week just making things. Turns out I'm great with my hands in a 3D sense.

Good luck with the cougar bars. And Marines aren't all douche-bags, I'm sure there are one or two good ones in there. My family is all airborne though. Air Force and Army. But I get cha. All girls want a man in a uniform. (Save for me, I want a nerdy gamer boy. They're more fun and less likely to cheat on you with another breathing girl.) I didn't even know they had such things as cougar bars. xD

That's really cool~ I'm not very good with my fingers...lack of precision. My hands as a whole are good though! XD Did another Worships service tonight and tore up my fingers some more, worth it though!

My Dad is retired Navy, but I'm not very motivated to enter myself into any form of military...I'm just not that kind of guy! Cougar Bars are like those hidden achievements on Xbox 360 that are really hard to get...they exist...you just have to do EVERYTHING to find them!

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-27 04:58:34 +0000 UTC]

My tips for you to find such a mythical bar, Follow around some cougars. They are sure to lead you there eventually.

And maybe you should invest in thimbles or tape your fingers before you play. It's what my Worship leader does.

What's your favorite color?

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-27 18:14:04 +0000 UTC]

Hmmmm, I never thought of either of those ideas! XD But wouldn't covering your fingers mess with the sound of the guitar?

My favorite Color would be Red~

And yours?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-27 21:55:58 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't think so. The sound has to do with the resonating of the string and the hollow in the guitar. I was assuming you played with a pick.

I like the darker shades of red, blue and green.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-27 22:59:29 +0000 UTC]

I'll definitely have to try that sometime!~ (I play with a pick unless precise strings are needed to be played; My fingers can play tab easier that my pick can)

So what kind of Video Games are you most interested in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-02-27 23:18:19 +0000 UTC]

Ah shoot, that's a big range. I don't play many FPS games, the only one I do is Portal and maybe a few others. Portal is my current drug of choice, but I also play the Sims games, Pokemon, Megaman Legends, Monster Rancher, Final Fantasy (on occasions), World of Warcraft (back when I could afford it), The early years of the Mario games, RPG, Strategy, puzzles, all of those kinds of games.

What about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-28 02:21:22 +0000 UTC]

I think the only game/style of game I don't enjoy is RTS...it just doesn't interest me like it used to. Outside of that I'm up for anything! But I have to say my 1st love is Fighting Games~<3 Street Fighter, Tekken, Super Smash Bros, Final Fantasy Dissidia, anything really. I just get so much enjoyment from beating the tar out of my opponent!~ > w <

I get my urges for FPS and RPG's pretty often, but the latter more so than the former. I don't enjoy FPS games. The thing I've always noticed about them is skill directly relates to playtime. It doesn't matter how fast your reflexes are naturally, or how much you know about the game; the more you play, the better you are. If you spend 10 straight hours playing it, you will be on par with people who had been playing the game for 2 weeks. Not too mention the constant evidence of "hackers" and "lagswitchers" in CoD matches.

The same could be said for fighting games, but with each character comes a different playstyle, you really have to "master" fighting not only as your character, but also fighting against your opponents Character. Every match-up is different~ -fangasms-

OH My Gosh TEKKEN!
I loved Tekken growing up. I used to play with my brothers all the time. 90% of the time, I'm a button masher. But after a while, I'll start learning moves or I'll play by myself just to do the moves. I think to date, my favorite Tekken was Tekken 5, because of the Jinn Devil Within part of the game.

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-02-28 20:26:15 +0000 UTC]

My most common fighting style is fast, but weak...I just enjoy being able to whittle down my opponents health while constantly evading~<3

Tekken 5&6- Asuka Kazama
Super Street Fighter 4- Cody
Super Smash Bros. Brawl- Fox
Dissidia Final Fantasy- Onion Knight

The quickest way to turn me into a babbling nerd is to talk about fighting games! -second fangasm-

Oh gosh, let's see, for
Smash Bros I usually played as Samus
Tekken 1-2 I played Kunimitsu
Tekken 3 I played Lei and the Williams sisters and the Doctor and Kuma (when I unlocked them)
Tekken 4 and 5 I played as Jin and Hwrangnlka;sjd (How ever you spell his name)(Googled it: Hwoarang) and the Williams sisters.

How could I forget?
Soul Calibur: Nightmare (The only character that doesn't fall under the norm of my playstyle...I just enjoy impaling and utterly crushing my opponent with that huge sword of his~ )

Kuuuuuma~~~~<3 My favorite move is where she sits down and then rolls forward! XD

Recently I started playing the Professor Layton Series, have you ever played them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piph In reply to Tiduseya [2011-03-01 22:35:30 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha, I called him that too! I've never played Soul Calibur or the Professor Layton Series. I liked Kuma because I'd always be like "Maul Maul Maul!!!" while I played. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tiduseya In reply to Piph [2011-03-04 12:04:30 +0000 UTC]

Kuma definitely had the best grab ever lol

Proffessor Layton is pretty much a huge puzzle game, and I love it! There is a story, and it isn't lacking at all! They really make you think lol

Soul Calibur has a slightly different set up from most fighting games, instead of the low punch, mid kick, etc. They actually have three attack buttons: Horizantal, Vertical, Kick. Kicks are fast with short range and the H/V buttons are pretty obvious lol Since nearly everyone in the game has a weapon (Excluding a few special Characters) It really focuses on how each character fights with their respective weapons and styles. When you're using a light/fast weapon, the button presses needed are well-timed and fast. When you're using a slower/heavier weapon, you need to be able to switch the direction of your analog stick and change the button you press so you can continue your combo smoothly.

Soul Calibur sounds a little like Dynasty Warriors. Have you ever played that?

My Favorite Character would have to be either Ma Chao, Zhou Tai, or....(To be honest I don't really like the Wei side...)

It's similar in the aspect that every character has different movesets, but Soul Calibur has a little more depth ~ lol
