Hey. So, this may sound super strange and sudden, but I’ve been kind of looking for you all around the internet.

You see, about a year ago I came across the artwork of one of your characters, Eli’Maar. At first I didn’t even know the character had a name or even a backstory. My first thought was “this is a cool tabaxi”, because... Well, I play dnd, tabaxi are anthro felines in the game. So from this random picture I began to come with this complex story of a young man full of wanderlust in search for adventure. It became something else. Just with that design, the weapons, the clothes, the look he gave the viewer. It told a story I wanted to explore, so Eli’Maar became the avatar of that character.

Of course, it quickly evolved into something else and now the design is completely different from the original inspiration, but it inspired me. I created other tabaxi characters, I created his family line and got into world building. Out of the sheer randomness of the internet, your work made me return into being a creative person. This helped others get awesome experiences too when they interacted with the character.

Now that I’ve rediscovered your stuff, I sort of realize why I loved it so much. It’s expressive, semi-realistic, every piece has personality and culture. It feels grounded. Not cartoonish nor fantastic. It feels like it can exist somewhere and that’s such an awesome feeling to get from art. I want to know who the real Eli’Maar was, where he lived, and what is this place of cheetahs and kings?

I know that, from what I could gather, you’re going through some tough times. That’s understandable, even more so with the global pandemic. So, I guess I just wanted to send you some words of encouragement. To tell you that your art is worth so much more than just the already superb quality. To tell you that it inspired some random person on the internet and made their life better. If you take a break, it’s okay, and if you don’t, your art is always worth the wait. Be kind to yourself.

And now that I’ve realized you do streaming, I’ll probably try to look around where you do that, I’d love to see it and learn a thing or two.
