Favorite visual artist: Too many to name them all and I would never stick to just one. People advance, you know.
Favorite movies: I'm a movie geek. I love the 70s to early 90s horror & sci-fi stuff. Zombies? Love 'em. Yet I can also watch some childrens cartoons and also love films that make me think & reflect. Depends all on the right mood.
Favorite TV shows: Farscape, Inside the Actors Studio, Star Trek, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, That 70s Show, Twin Peaks
Favorite bands / musical artists: If it rocks it's fine for me which doesn't mean it has to be rock music. As for movies, depends on my mood.
Favorite books: The Forever War, Ubik, Azamoth, Der Steppenwolf...
Favorite writers: Philip K Dick, Clive Barker, Lovecraft, Philip K. Dick...
Favorite games: Fallout, Mass Effect, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, yet I don't play that much any more lately.
Favorite gaming platform: Mostly my mobile though as I said, I play less and less in the last few years.
Tools of the Trade: Pencils, Pens, Paper, Photoshop, Illustrator, Graphic Tablets, my brain
Other Interests: I love to cook for people (and myself), meet new people, share experiences, have good conversations, reading a good book, watching movies... you know, the simple stuff which light up your life every day.

# About me

Hey there!
I'm Tobias, I was born 1982 in a little village in the black forest in Germany.

For more than 10 years, I've been working as a professional graphic designer / webdesigner and illustrator. I like to use pencils & markers but also do a lot of digital paintings. Besides my commercial stuff, I always drew things for myself, mostly fantasy & horror based. I've always done that and I guess I always will.

I am also a member of the MUCC, the Manchester University Comic Collective, where I was both a student and a tutor. We do not only give lessons on drawing comics and manga, but also about writing, developing stories and the whole process behind that. If you are interested, you can find us in my groups widget!

From the end of 2013 to 2014, I had a lot of personal crisis to deal with and as a result of them, I've made drastic changes in my life. I decided to leave design behind me and started an education to become a professional caretaker. I want to do good and help people. Believe it or not, my experiences in art are a big pillar of help for this, even though it may sound strange to some people.

I live and breathe pop-culture, I love a good glass of wine, a good book and an honest conversation. I have a wonderful fiancee which I love dearly and can't wait to finally get married, I love animals and cooking^^

To me, Deviantart is a place where I can show my works, look for comments and meet other people that like the same stuff as I do. I don't give a crap about the "artistic level", the experience or the age of a person. We can all learn from each other.

Hi I must say your artwork is amazing especially the art centered on return of the living dead 3. That's one of my favourite zombie films of all time. the way you draw Julie in different art styles is worthy of an art museum. I was thinking of giving Julie a new look like a bikini or a dress in black. What do you think? Don't worry take your time I won't rush you.

Sadly I don't have as much time for drawing these days as I wished I'd do, but it'll come to me again^^

Great art, in my knowledge, is fueled by the spirit of the artist, which can waver at times(sometimes much more frequently than we like), and when we do have the spirit, the time to fully create and embellish our work can be another obstacle. The important thing is that even when time eludes you, you should not give up on your spirit. Keep it strong until you can find the time once again. :) (Smile) (That's what I tell myself, anyways)

Thank you for your wish as well! I hope to do more detailed and longer works in the future, which I have not done in awhile, so i'll see how that turns out! I'm excited to see how I and others will progress over time, and perhaps have a clear view of my style and the like.

hey tobias,

hab mir mal deine tutorial reihe in youtube reingezogen und finde generell interessant was du gemacht hast! Vor allem großer respekt, weil das ja doch so seine zeit gedauert hat, bis du damit fertig warst.

wie wär's beim nächsten tutorial an einem creature/monster design zu arbeiten? bin immer für ein speedpainting/tutorial basierend auf monster zu haben :) (Smile)

Ja, ich werde auch definitiv weitere Sachen posten. Nur habe ich vor ein paar Tagen endlich eine kommerzielle Zeichnung fertigbekommen, für die ich ebenfalls ein Tutorial erstellen soll. Da bin ich im Moment erst Mal mit der Nachbearbeitung beschäftigt.

Aber ich werd's im Hinterkopf behalten, vielen Dank. ;) (Wink)
Ist schön zu sehen dass mein Zeugs überhaupt mal gesehen wird^^

es hat mir heute großen Spaß gemacht, Dich näher kennen zu lernen. Besonders die Sache mit den zehn Fragen habe ich sehr interessant gefunden. Es ist mir vorgekommen wie ein Spiel, aber diese Fragen sind allesamt bedeutsam gewesen.

ja vielen Dank auch. Die Fragen sind wie gesagt aus "Inside the actors studio", davon gibt's ne Menge Episoden auf Youtube. Und die Antworten von Dir und Christian waren natürlich auch wieder was zum Nachdenken.
Mir hat's auch sehr gefallen, mal in einem komplett anderen Medium zu arbeiten. Das war Neuland für mich aber ich mag es, auf neue Sachen zuzugehen. Mal schauen wo es mich noch hinführt ^^
