# About me
The Spanish artist David Garcia Torrico was born in Madrid in 1984 and resided there until 2008. His publications first appeared in ‘Hip-Hop Nation’ magazine, where he first exhibited his chameleon style using various techniques and methods, but always using his unmistakably clean and precise stroke. For a period of 5 years, he studied Art at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid while dedicating his free time towards working for several Spanish publishing agencies. Trying to find an opening into the world of illustration can be quite difficult in Spain, so he decided to study graphic and web design during his last two years at university. He also participated in other courses, each contributing to a specialized style and allowing him work as a freelancer. For these same reasons he decided to enroll in his last university art course at the Art School Groningen, located in Groningen, Netherlands, and dedicate all his time and effort to what he loved: the world of comics. Around this time, he won several contests with short comic stories after devoting himself to his passion, while always believing in the possibility of finding a breakthrough and making a name for himself amongst the best.
After an intense working year experimenting with different styles in Holland, he returned to Madrid after being hired by an advertising company. Soon however, the result of such a period of “un-creativity” was an escape to the city named “the capital of graphic design;” Montreal, in the French speaking province of Quebec, Canada. While building small web pages as a freelancer he contacted specific design companies in the city. After tireless work, a chance for employment with one of these companies presented itself, but by that time he considered his time in Montreal over. Winter was close and with it extremely low temperatures, and as he puts it, “I guess I just didn’t want to draw with a frozen arm.”
He returned to Madrid, and soon submerged himself in a comfortable, creative mood. “After a long time working without real motivating subjects, sometimes one forgets what’s really important for one’s self: just drawing.”
His time in the capital would not be long, for a great chance soon appeared. He returned to Holland to work with one of the most important graphic design companies in the country, which so happened to be located in his former student city, Groningen. He resides there still, working closely with prestigious artists and doing what he most loves; raising and developing skills by expanding his fields and experimenting with new styles and techniques.
Current Residence: Groningen, Holland

hehe, I'm just busy with some paintings. So I will take some time to develop these skills (and cleaning my room after that).
