# About me

My hobby is writing. I've chosen not to pursue it professionally as a career because it's pretty unstable work no matter what the economic climate. I write mostly about fantasy but dabble in fanfiction and philosophy.

I'm currently at University studying Joint Honours Human Biology and Spanish.

Don't forget to mention how he 'beat you to the punch' and how eventually his work got over-rated and he was just making a plot of wish fulfilment because he had HOT LESBIANS.

Bet he'd soon suck up to him if he sent him his novel. 'To Joss, thanks for the inspiration.'

I think it's also that he recently sent me a note, so I flipped at him a bit.

Sent you a note? Saying what, if you don't mind me asking.

Hallowedlady In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 17:25:14 +0000 UTC]

I said I lacked hope forhim, he 'asked' why and I explained. He then went on to say he still wanted to be friends with me, and how I helped him make changes to his book. Frankly I call BS on the last part.

ToxicWitchling In reply to Hallowedlady [2012-01-23 17:34:14 +0000 UTC]

He does refuse to give evidence unless you actually buy the book, but it's like $25 and that's not cheap for something that was done pretty badly in the first draft.

Hallowedlady In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 17:35:17 +0000 UTC]

Agreed.
I just find it weird that he stills wants to be friends with me.

ToxicWitchling In reply to Hallowedlady [2012-01-23 17:41:00 +0000 UTC]

Even though he called you a troll. He has something about friendship, like he makes a big deal about losing someone when he's the one making people irate.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hallowedlady In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 17:43:22 +0000 UTC]

I didn't take much offense to the troll thing, but it's like he forgets he pretty much insulted me there. It drives me nuts because he's got a bad habit for jumping at someone when he thinks he is being insulted.

ToxicWitchling In reply to Hallowedlady [2012-01-23 17:46:03 +0000 UTC]

I know, I basically said the same thing as you only hours before but he didn't call me a troll. He either gets really angry or dismisses you cheerfully.

At this point I'm fine with it. Before I might have not liked the idea of getting at him, but as far as I'.m concerned now he deserves everything he gets.

Oh I saw that. Another one of his famous side step arguments where he completely moves around your question. He'd have a great career in politics if his writing was slightly better.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hallowedlady In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 17:57:28 +0000 UTC]

True, anyway that'd probably why he called me a troll.

Kasihime In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 21:35:15 +0000 UTC]

But he'll continue to do so. Whining that no publisher will give him a chance. (Oh wait, create-space is a legit publisher now. Oh right.)

I really liked what you said about the 'no demographic' thing as well, because it's true. He's either marketing to the magical clones of himself out there, or he's expecting people to LEARN FROM HIS BOOK AND BE LIKE JON- JASPER.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToxicWitchling In reply to Kasihime [2012-01-23 21:45:48 +0000 UTC]

You think that would be a really obvious fault seeing as he's had so many comments telling him he is misogynistic. I mean, yes, some works do get away with being anti-feminist or completely lacking in good female characters e.g. Twilight, but that's because they're not sprinkled with random evil women here and there.

Plus what man is like Jasper? He's too NICE GUY even for the Nice Guy's out there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kasihime In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 22:01:00 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, I do think Jon intended this book to 'enlighten' people about how life SHOULD be lived. (AKA: Jon's way.)

Morgalla and Jasper were supposed to become our new ideals for human interaction, just like how Twilight convinced so many girls that Bella and Edward were the ideal. (EXCEPT NO NOT LIKE TWILIGHT BECAUSE TWILIGHT IS AWFUL AND TERRIBLE AND NOT AT ALL EXACTLY THE SAME STORY WITH VAMPIRES.)

But since Twilight was written by a woman who was very in-touch with pre-teen girl fantasies, (Since she herself has the same mental capacity) she got published. Also, she didn't ignore the basic concepts of grammar.

And you know a book is bad when I'm using it to give points to SMeyer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToxicWitchling In reply to Kasihime [2012-01-23 22:07:39 +0000 UTC]

Morgalla really gets on my nerves, and I really don't understand how he can write his second and third books at the same time. I'm writing a fantasy novel too and I couldn't do that. How can he possibly concentrate? I mean he wrote the first one and there are plot holes in that, and he was solely writing that one piece at the time.

I really hope someone writes a fanfiction about it one day where Morgalla gets her ass handed to her and Jasper [AKA the orange hulk] dies from that special version of Hellaids Morgalla gave him. It would make a much more interesting story than the actual book.

Poor Jon, he really needs a lay doesn't he?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kasihime In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-23 22:20:25 +0000 UTC]

He really does. A brutal one from Reality.

And I hope so too. It's sometimes tempting to take his characters and completely rewrite the story.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToxicWitchling In reply to Kasihime [2012-01-23 22:26:07 +0000 UTC]

I know, just to show him what he should of done. Then again he's probably pissed that a lot of his critics are females who are much younger than him. Probably seething at the idea of our youth and capability to string together coherent sentences. You know, the two attributes that say we still have the possibility of becoming successful writers.

If I ever publish I shall be ridiculously tempted to flaunt it to him. Someone may have to slap me, hard!

I think my question is, does he SERIOUSLY think that Muslims facing discrimination is a fucking stereotype?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToxicWitchling In reply to asmilingmalice [2012-01-25 17:11:04 +0000 UTC]

He probably can't stand the idea of religions other than Christianity being displayed as kind or discriminated against.

Especially when he lives in Michigan of all places (we have the most Arab Muslims in the entire world outside of the Middle East). Talk to most non-Muslims in Michigan and tell me that they don't have some form of prejudice against them.

ToxicWitchling In reply to asmilingmalice [2012-01-25 20:33:17 +0000 UTC]

Since I live in England and in the second major city at that, I often come into contact with Asian people. Some Muslim, some of other middle eastern religions. I really liked your DD, it was strange to read about the different reactions you got since I'm so used to people just being treated the same whatever the colour or religion or what have you. It's not often I see blatant racism because of the multiculturalism in my city.

Maybe Jon's book would be helped by adding someone of a different religion, or of a different race.

asmilingmalice In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-25 20:39:54 +0000 UTC]

I sincerely doubt it. He'd probably make them convert to Christianity in the end because Allah didn't stop the demons from coming but the demon girl with the crucifix is the hero of the day.

ToxicWitchling In reply to asmilingmalice [2012-01-25 21:04:25 +0000 UTC]

Probably, not to mention Jasper is 'the perfect conservative Nice Guy.' I'm surprised he didn't go for something really shockingly republican in his story like Morgalla telling a girl not to get an abortion because she'd go to hell or something radical like that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

asmilingmalice In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-25 21:27:33 +0000 UTC]

"OH PLEASE DON'T DO THAT MA'AM! MY MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO ME AND SHE WAS RAPED BY A DEMON AND I AM SO THANKFUL TO HER FOR THIS AND YOUR KID WILL BE SO THANKFUL TO YOU TOO I PROMISE!!!!"

Something along those lines?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ToxicWitchling In reply to asmilingmalice [2012-01-25 21:41:29 +0000 UTC]

Either that or

' OMFG YOU DIRTY LITTLE WHORE HOW DARE YOU GET AN ABORTION !!1!11! YOU'LL GO STRAIGHT TO HELL FOR THIS AND I SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE I'M FROM HELL. YOU SHOULD HAVE KEPT YOUR LEGS CLOSED, GOD YOU HUMAN GIRLS ARE SUCH SKETS AND TRAILER TRASH !! '

He could have done worse I suppose, like anti-gay or something. I can't wait to see how the hell he puts Morgalla into the Military in book 3.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

asmilingmalice In reply to ToxicWitchling [2012-01-25 21:44:28 +0000 UTC]

Or she will use her "MORAL MANIPULATION!!!" powers against her because that poor pregnant woman KNOWS that an abortion is wrong and will change her mind and keep the baby because it's RIGHT! Or she'll be morally corrupt and Morgalla's abilities won't work on her and the immoral woman will kill a poor, innocent baby.

Seriously lame either way. Why does a DEMON have the power to make someone see that what they are doing is wrong and make them do the right thing? Wouldn't they have a power that would do the absolute opposite? Since demons aren't exactly moral characters in this stupid book?
