Let me try to answer that:

You're asking me my favourite hair colour for Sophitia?

Out of my recolours I'd say this one:

I don't like having the hair too saturated with yellow hue

Ive noticed something in Pyrrha 2P CAS and 3P CAS1 models
when turned on backface culling and always force culling  half of thorns on her crown dispear but if those options are turned off they are visible again.

it makes some conflict when clothes need backfaces on

Good catch!

There 3p model was a head-mod from Pyrrha plunked onto Elysium's body, so whatever errors in the 2p model got transferred over.

I must've been focused on other parts of her and my brain simply ignored the thorns

There was a LOT of issues with the 2p costumes (probably one of the models with the most errors from the original porter).   This may require me to dig into blender, since the XPS option of recalculating normals will definitely cause more new errors than it will fix.

I can't promise when I'll get to it (been pretty busy recently) since I haven't been porting in a long time my skills are rather rusty.

Hi I love all your SC models.  I was about dong artworks for that but then I thought,I need some environments from SC into xps so I wonder if you are capable porting the environments of SC??  That's great if you can. But if not,no hard feeling!

Trolt In reply to Hatredboy [2017-12-10 01:38:02 +0000 UTC]

There are a few from SC4 , but every SC5 map I've tried to extract was extremely difficult to even start assigning textures to meshes.

Whereas an individual model you can figure out the person's anatomy and their clothes, I cannot tell if something in a stage is a rock or a bush (less reference material).

I know i'm doing something wrong, because going from the extracted game files and exporting out to Noesis into Blender, the results look indecipherable.

I have yet figured out how to do it properly

Yeah every sc4/5 character should have a model by now (last one was omega pyrrha / edgemaster /dampierre)

Looking forward to seeing your art /recolours

good luck

What about switched Alexandra family outfits?

Sophitia to Cassandra
Cassandra to Pyrrha
Pyrrha to Sophitia

BTW Pyrrha got 24 October birthsay So why not wear her mother clothes as gift
While Sophitia got brithday on 12 March, But Cassandra already got birthsday on 20 July.

They can definitely switch since all 3 have similar body proportions and wield very similar weapons.

I don't have access to the SC2 game files.  There are some SC2 models out there (xianghua, seong mina, and sophitia) and maybe you should try asking the fellow who ported those models

Hi, Trolt. I downloaded some of the recent models and I've noticed that a few of them don't have the generic_item.mesh.ascii thing. The reason why I'm bringing this up is because when I went to use the models, the XPS software shut down quickly. Is there a way for you to look into this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trolt In reply to Stylistic86 [2017-09-14 22:22:18 +0000 UTC]

Are you using xps 11.8 ?

I think (not verified) that if I use File --> Open Model method (Ctrl + I) it should open via the xps.xps
You should also open the problem models via Modify --> Load Generic Item and see if the xps.xps , generic_item.mesh and the generic_item.mesh.ascii (3 different files) each give you crashing issues

The reason I prefer xps.xps is that (unless i'm proven otherwise) that it is the method that the Ctrl + I method uses
I use the generic_item.mesh as a backup, because i'm constantly tinkering with the models
I don't really use generic_item.mesh.ascii because there are normal map coordinate issues (The green Y co-ordinate are stuck inverted) and re-saving it after correcting it the FlagsDialog doesn't save in generic_item.mesh.ascii but it saves it in the other formats.

So far you've reported that the xianghua don't load properly for you and that the Kilik 3p doesn't have a generic_item.mesh.ascii.   Of course i'll try to make it accessible for everyone, but I need to make sure that if I change one thing it won't make the file unopen for some 3rd person out there.

Stylistic86 In reply to Trolt [2017-09-14 23:42:07 +0000 UTC]

I'm also using GLLara, which is basically XPS, but for the Mac. When I downloaded the jacket-less Xianghua models and the new Kilik models, they wouldn't show up on the screen, causing the software to close down. Could there be some bugs in the models that are causing it to do that?  I tried doing file-->Add Model  and opened it via xps.xps, and even the generic_item.mesh for those models and that occurred. I appreciate that you are making every model accessible. I commend you for that.

github.com/cochrane/GLLara/rel… this GLLara version right ?  I can't directly trouble shoot that software because I don't have a mac, but luckily that Cochrane fellow seems like a stand up guy.

The Sep 2017 version of the  SC4 1p Xianghua all have the same blanket changes on my Sep 2017 re-release of models (I added eye reflection and hair reflection which are render group 27 that those models did not originally have).   I've seen your art with the older versions and that appears to be the only change since.

Since the Xianghua models originally were ported by Sticklove's Love2Raid, can you see if you can load up the SC4 Setsuka, Raphael, Cervantes, or Talim to see if those models also crash on your version of GLLara (they have the same changes)  This way we can isolate what the issue is and try to solve it.

I'm going to take a look at the mesh.ascii on my end but it was working on XPS 11.8 this morning when I first responded (except for the inverted Y normal coordinate)

Cochrane has given me an updated version of GLLara. I loaded up the models that you've mentioned and they haven't crashed the system. I think you may have missed a step or so. The new Leixia and Xiba models work, but the no jacket Xianghua models and Kilik's SCV 1p outfit are the main problem here.

something like this ?

imgur.com/a/CFFzs (image)

Sophie.Dress  (pose file)

My advice for you to pose is this:
1) Disable back face culling/always force culling.
2) Pan your camera directly below Sophitia (so you're looking at her soles).   The bottom of the skirt should show (if disable back face culling/force culling is ticked off, then you won't see it).   You can also approach from directly above but her arms may block your positioning.
3) Adjust the skirt however you like.   My advice is always to start with the bones with "a" which is generally the top of the skirt before you attempt to move the b/c/d bones.  Ie: start with "skirt middle 2a", then 2b, then 2c, then 2d until you are happy.
4)The dress is separated into 6 "regions" and you can move them around.   When you move the "middle" of the skirt (which is actually the front-middle) you need to move the sides so that it still looks circular.
5) Once you're done you should re-enable back face culling/always force culling

Good luck

Yo
Did you have some poses for Sophitia in dress outfit? Sorry for this question but im got little problem with posing her skirt down

While looking her renders on DA they looks fine as i wanted but no one upload pose of her .

Trolt In reply to JayR1994 [2017-05-25 00:50:05 +0000 UTC]

I would like to help you but I need some more clarification.

1) Are you having trouble with the posing the skirt using the XPS 11.8 software?  I suspect that if the "bones" for the skirt is name differently, loading a .pose file may not correctly adjust the pose.   I sometimes rename my bones in the models I upload so if you try to apply someone else's pose file the skirt bones may not correlate.

2) Did you enable back face culling?  Some files have the under-layer of the skirt disappear when that is enabled

3) Are you asking for a sample pose ?
SC1.Sophie.2017  (image)
SCLS Sophitia CAS2  (model)
SC1.Sophie.New.2017  (pose file)

4 )Could you upload or somehow show me your progress so I can help you identify the issues?

Trolt In reply to JBSuper [2017-02-26 00:54:16 +0000 UTC]

I try to help.   It should be a matter of transparency, which I need to adjust once in the texture file (ntrx033.dds) and then in the material editor in xpx 11.8

Easy way: Just copy my ntrx033.dds file and paste it in the folder of your mod, THEN recolor it the way you want.

Understanding way:
1) Open file ntrx033.dds (I assume you can open .dds files since you've been recoloring them)
2) In the Alpha channel you want to make black the parts that you wish to be transparent (Ie that bulb/sprout thingy).   I attach an imgur link : imgur.com/a/jwSGm .   You can even remove the thorn tips by changing the alpha layer
3) Recolour the regular channel however you like.
4) When you open your model in XPS 11.8, hit Ctrl T and find the "crown.crown" mesh part
5) on the bottom left, tick off "transparency" and the bulb should disappear"

Please send me your model so I can take a look if you still need help.

good luck
