I hope that your birthday is great, cause it is a good reason to celebrate. And for that I say:-
Happy Birthday!! Hope your day is filled with lots of love and laughter! May all your birthday wishes come true. Let this day be full of joy and celebration. I hope that today is the beginning of another wonderful year for you. Donβt look for a heaven in the sky. Make your own heaven right here.
Blowing out another candle should mean that you have lived another year with joy and you've made this world a better place. Make every day of your life and every candle count. Have a delightful birthday!
I know it is early but I donΒ΄t want to miss give the wishes for you, because I am for more than a week not here on DEVIANTART

Take a look at some of my Tutorials and see if that helps you, not sure what level u are at with photoshop or painter. I would recommend you use a Wacom tablet if you are not already, and from what I see in the link you sent me, I would try to avoid using the burning tool to shadow your skin tones. Try to use more vibrant colors, redish browns, mainly keep it lighter then what you think and at the end you can adjust it with "levels" or play with saturation. What I like to do is make a copy of the painted layer and apply the "overlay" layer effect on it but remember when you do that adjust the layer opacity so that it's not so saturated.
if you have specific questions I can answer them better.
hope that helps

keep your skin color pallette set; medium, light, and dark. pick out your medium skin tone and from that go few shades darker but when you go darker try not to go too grey/black, try to keep your colors more or a brownish tint with some reds in it. for highlights try to go a bit pink or yellow hues depending on the subject your painting. the burn tool just makes everything black and hard to control how the type of color you get from it. however i do use the burn tool sometimes for clothes and metal texturing.
