I've always found 3D origami intriguing. How exactly do you plan out what you're going to make? Do you create some sort of pattern, or something else?

It is interesting I still love seeing what other 3D Origami Artists make. Each one of us have a different style with different techniques.Β
Well I plan by first thinking of about how many pieces the project are going to need. A list of suggested/requested projects usually help me. And a lot of times I have to choose things that are circular or triangular.Β
For me it's not really a pattern it's more of a map. I take the overall color design and place it over (in my mind) an image and twig with it accordingly. I take usually a week to examine and apply the character. The actually build take from 2 hours to a month. My process is quite complicated compared to others.Β
