Most of the outfit I wear for it is cheap.
I.e the most expensive thing I'll be wearing is the corset which was from Venus Trading in Whitby for about £45.
The rest is charity shop or I've made/edited myself!

Yeah a friend of mine uses stretchers, they can look pretty awesome. A bit scary when you take the bit in the middle out though. Kind of reminds me of an old lady's neck or something!

Well that's the thing for me though...
I have very odd skin, and if I got a tattoo it wouldn't heal properly and would in fact Keiloid!
It's pretty disgusting for me actually.
So I stick to piercings.
I hope to get a tattoo on my back though in a few years that would read "Love what's beyond the imperfections".
It would be the only tattoo that I would have

I have one on my chest that I designed when my friend passed away, I love it. But I want to get some more... the next one is definitely going to be at the base of my neck, but I don't know what of. Hmmm -_-

I know... I have too many keiloid scarring already.
One on my neck, one on my collarbone, and a triangle of 3 just below my collarbone one.
I might take a whole self portrait of me and them.
I dislike them... but they make me part of who I am.

That does sound good, but I guess I'm not a very powerful person. Just very opinionated and open minded. This could be some kind of personal mission, to design myself the ultimate tattoo

As for the scarring - yeah, I always see it as a part of ones self too. I couldn't say from experience. I just have a heck of a lot of moles. And I'm annoyingly skinny. But I just see it as imperfections that people either love or hate. And if they hate them, they can go to hell :3

To be honest, most of my friends are tiny. It's weird, I'm 6'3" and I tower over everyone, haha. It's annoying sometimes but great if you want to reach something on a shelf, or something so you would also probably be someone I have to look down to say hi to XD

I went out today with the friend I'm going to Whitby with and bought some stuff to try make a costume (I took your advice ). I'm trying to make a kind of wasteland survivor gentleman's outfit. I've split a suit jacket in 2, and it'll be like a half-half mish-mash thing, I'm struggling for inspiration though. Do you think that would sound ok?

I've got a bowler/top hat, some old world war pilot goggles and other bits and pieces too. Hopefully it should look good, and you'll no doubt know it's me if you see me haha

Well if you want my advise..
Get the regular gentleman Goth outfit. The Buttoned coat, top hat, gloves, walking stick, shirt with ruffles and a well fitting pair of trousers, and well.. roughen them up a bit, haha!
Talcum powder works wonders for a sort of "Just been in an avalanche" type look, as well as a few tears here and there.
Also, the things you can take inspiration from on the tinternet is the style of Steam-punk as its like the style that never came.

Thanks for the advice too I still have my frilly shirt/wastecoat/etc from the last time I went, so I may take that, and have an experiment too. I did try my hand at steampunk, but when I realised it'd become a big trend at whitby now it put me off quite a bit. Ah well, we shall see.

What're your usual plans when you get there anyways?

The less you ask me for ideas, and the more you just generally experiment, is the more successful your outfit will be.
It's surprising to not actually see that many "Gothic Gentlemen" anymore. No massive top hats, pocket watched and crisp white gloves anymore.
It's more modern.

I normally go by car now, haha! I live in Knaresborough, few miles from Harrogate, so it's not actually that much of a drive. About an hour and a half?

You do have a point... I've been charity shop hunting so it's coming on a bit . I always do the gothic gentleman, usually with the frilled shirt/wastecoat, hat and fobwatch, but last time I was dressed in military clothes with a gasmask and captain's cap. It looked great but my face was so hot, and it was hard to breathe, haha.

It must be good not having to sit in a car all day I live up north so it's a fair distance. But I love when we get there. I have my own hotel room this year so I get some space for once aswell. Good times! x

I don't really dress up, but I do my make-up the best I can do it, and I get LOADS of photographers then anyway.
Also, my hair is a decent colour, styled and such...
I'm a good "size" now, so i can get into that corset!!!!!
