Steve is about as open and honest and plainspoken as one could imagine. He values hard work, bravery, kindness and honor and tries his best to exemplify those same qualities. Traditional and archaic, Steve represents the archetypal hero. He is a leader when one is needed, as well as a symbol for others. His old-timey valor, sincerity, and belief in all things good has a positive affect on those around him. Not that he always hits his mark, but he tries. And he is always extremely disappointed in himself when he falls short. So long as someone else isn't hurt, he is far more forgiving of faults in others than he is in himself. He hates bullies and arrogance (okay, it’s not arrogance if it’s true, but bragging bugs him), and he will always find time to help anyone. His old friends may be gone, but he finds strength in his new ones, even if their conversations tend to be a little rough around the edges. He is humble and believes himself no more a hero than anyone else.
Steve has a limited knowledge of the decades during his frozen imprisonment. This limitation manifests most frequently in his confusion when people use expressions and references that he has no knowledge of. His understanding of technological advances is similarly impaired, and although his intelligence has allowed him to quickly come to terms with various advancements, it can be assumed that he lacks many basic skills associated with the modern world. His outdated aspect on life oftentimes leads him to feel like an outsider, and he knows there is a lot left for him to learn. He noticeably gravitates towards technology that has remained relatively unchanged from early 20th Century developments.
Steve’s main weapon is his own body. After Dr. Erskine and Howard Stark’s joint efforts to create a super soldier, Steve became not just taller and stronger than he had been, to a superhuman degree, but more resilient too. He can run longer, work harder. He doesn't get tired as quickly. He heals fast. He’s good with a variety of firearms, but he prefers to fight close if he can (it’s more honest). He carries his signature vibranium shield whenever he’s in uniform and it’s as good a weapon as it is protection.
