That is an odd policy you have. i believe in thanking people for praise, but if you dont want to be thanked and withdraw your praise for being thanked, then dont fav deviations. leave a comment on the deviation instead. then you dont get other peoples comments messing up your profile page, if thats what your goal of the policy is. i dont know about most people, but i prefer to read comments and feed back over a fav any day, so it does not really matter to me either way.

You're not going to make many friends doing that :/ Ah well. Would rather not have a favourite off someone that un-favourites and un-watches people for thanking them for the favourite. Immature.

I'd like to request that we not begin with name calling.
I realize removing favorites and unwatching people is not going to attract friends, but online friendship isn't something I actively seek from the deviantART community.
I've only resorted to something this drastic because, otherwise, people simply ignored my requests (evidenced by the first ten ten pages of my comments being hidden in response to all of the spam).
I appreciate your gesture of kindness, but I just don't want it displayed on my page; if you really just want to show your gratitude, send me a thank-you note instead.
Why do you consider rejecting praise immature? Believe it or not, some cultures (like that of the Japanese[1] ) consider accepting praise to be immature/rude.[2] [3] As I've written on my page, "thanks, but no thanks."
I've nothing against you. It's just that I think I should follow through with my comment policy I set up. I'd hate to leave you with a bad impression of me. Your typography is great, hence my original favorite. Keep at it, mate.

I just dont see the whole point. You are discouraging people from commenting on your profile then they wont comment and wont take a look around. Having people thank you is a way for them to check out your work too.
& to be fair, yes you have left a bad impression. The drastic un-favourite doesn't bother me at all. It's just that I have to reply to about 50-100 favourites every couple of days and I speed reply, copying the thankyou note, pasting it on all the profiles. This means i just scroll right past all the other stuff (i.e your 'thanks but not thanks') and you try doing that on your page. You cant see the note at all.
