Of course. That piece was actually a point a friend of mine was making to push digital art on me. I don't generally LOVE digital art but that piece was a noteable exception. Did a good job in making it seem kinda traditional... not to further bitch about digital art, of course xD

Thanks very much! Quite nice to know I'm being used as such a positive example lol.. I'm a traditional painter aswell, started out traditionally, moved to digital, then found out that knowledge through digital painting paid of in traditional. I'm now making better oil paintings than ever before, thanks in no small part to knowledge and techniques aquired through digital painting

That's interesting... does digital arting expand your traditional ability in areas further than concept/design/layout etc? Like form and technique and such?

Awesome. Good to know. I don't know too many people who draw digitally so I never got to see much progression with it.

For me it has, technique-wise it's helped me to loosen up a lot, I'm not as precious in line-making as I used to be, and my rough sketches have a much more contourline feel to them, which I think comes from the digital drawing. Also, in some way I think playing with digital layering has helped me understand how glazing and washes work in oil painting a lot more than I did previously. I can now lay out oil washes/glazes more confidently, knowing what it'll do to the colours beneath. Maybe that's just my understanding of colours and tonality improving, and maybe that's an entirely personal expirience between traditional and digital painting, but I'm sure one has helped with the other and vice versa.

I'm glad you think so! I will be updating it all with my current work once I get all the picture-taking done.
