I was checking on everyone to see if they need help or want to quit from the calendar project. I wanted to know if you still need help, because if you do I do what I can to aid you. I realized that if you need a grid I can provide you with it (I was so focused at creating a file with single transparent layer that I forgot about layer modes) by making an JPG file with the grid. You could paste in into your file and set layer mode to one that would leave only the grid visible.
And I don't know if I've sent you the way to change your picture's proportions in Painter.
I understand that you are busy, I have the same problem (too much to do, too little time).

Je craque avec cette grille, je n'arrive pas à faire ce que je veux avec les calques, mes grilles normales ou de perspective ne s'affichent plus correctement pour que je puisse écrire droit, je ne sais pas ce que j'ai fait avec ses grilles de painter, je ne vois pas ce qui c'est passé pour que je ne puisse plus y avoir accès, pour la grille de perspective je n'ai que la grille verticale. Bref pour aujourd'hui j'arrête ou je vais faire voler mon ordinateur à travers ma salle à manger. Envois moi ta grille et je vais voir si je peux la mettre sur un calque sans m'arracher les cheveux. I've made you two things. One is calendar grid with days already in it (you can type in name of the month and numbers as you see fit. Just remember to change colour for Sunday, Saturday and Friday. The file is JPG.
I also made you a template for the calendar page.

No problem, sweetie. I was thinking that if Painter is giving you such a hard time, you may want to try different program. One with more tutorials available, and more popular (so more people could help you with it)? I was thinking about GIMP. I happen to have two versions of it. One, older, is portable (you don't have to install it and you can keep it on a pendrive) and is perfect for you to try and test it. The other one is newer and traditional (you have to install it), it does have, however, more options and brushes. If you are interested, I can provide you with both. GIMP have plenty of available tutorials and is easier to control, so perhaps it would be better for you as a beginner?

Tu as raison, je suis une débutante, et je découvre ce genre de logiciel, mais j'ai quand même fait tellement de progrès sur painter, même si je ne sais pas encore le maitriser totalement. Mais j'ai acheté un dvd d'utilisation, mais je ne prends pas le temps de bien l'étudier mais grâce à cette grille de calendrier, cela m'a obligé à revoir certains chapitres et ainsi apprendre de nouvelles choses comme faire du papier brûlé, ou découpé, c'est moi qui devrait me discipliner pour que je travaille sur ce dvd, mais je fais tellement de choses !!!! Merci pour Gimp, normalement on doit acheter un autre ordinateur portable pour ma fille, donc je l'installerai sur celui-là je pense. Pour le calendrier je ne pourrai pas le faire avant milieu de la semaine prochaine, car je suis très occupée ce week-end, et lundi mardi je travaille, j'ai mon cour de dessin, et des reunions dans mon service, oh (soupir) je suis fatiguée rien que de penser à tout ça. Le pire c'est que j'écris aussi un fic et il me reste environ 2 chapitres pour la finir, j'ai plein d'idées pour la fin, je voudrai l'écrire mais je n'ai pas de temps, c'est contrariant.

OK. This is link to portable GIMP: [link] - you don;t install it. There will be an "installation" file, open it like you do with any other installation file, it won't install anything though, it will generate a folder with GIMP and it's components. Do not remove GIMP from that folder (it must stay inside to work properly) you may open the program from inside of the folder or create a short cut and put it wherever you like.
You can put the GIMP folder on your computer or keep it in your pendrive. This is slightly older version of GIMP, but it's fully functional. Tell me when you will want the stationary version and I will send you the link to it.
And don't worry about the calendar, the deadline is a month away, there is no hurry. I know that as a new person to all of this, it is hard for you and you need more time. Trust me, in time all of this will be so easy for you to do, that you won't even notice when you'll be doing it.

Ne pas retirer GIMP de ce dossier (il doit rester à l'intérieur pour fonctionner correctement), vous pouvez ouvrir le programme à partir de l'intérieur du dossier ou en créer un raccourci et de le mettre où vous voulez.

Merci pour Gimp portable, j'espère que je vais faire les bonnes manoeuvres car je ne comprends pas tout, dans la traduction mais quand on aura acheté l'autre ordinateur je vais essayer de le placer dessus. Pour le calendrier je n'ai pas eu le temps d'essayer ta grille, car en ce moment je suis assez occupée et les prochains jours aussi mais je pense le faire avant la date limite. Il faut que j'apprenne à manipuler painter, plus je le ferai et mieux je saurai l'utiliser. Merci pour ta disponibilité, c'est vraiment gentil à toi.

You know, I have an idea that may work for you best. I can create a calendar grid that would go around the page with your picture in the center. It would be the easiest way for you to finish your work and have a complete page. All you would have to do it to fit the picture in the center of the grid and pick a colour for its background. I don't know if such a thing would work for you, but with GIMP you'd be able to work on layer that I would provide you with, and I would give you short tutorial how to manipulate it, so you'd know what to do.
