Hello all.I pretty much just made this DA account for my cosplays, since I was getting a lot of questions on my wife's account. Check here out here She is the photographer and artsy one haha. You can also check out some more cosplay pics here- www.cosplay.com/member/310721/
Anyways, about my cosplays, I like to cosplay the super epic characters that I don't feel get enough attention as being super epic. I prefer more obscure cosplays over popular ones. I look for a good challenge when I choose as well. So as I make more costumes, they will probably be somewhat unique, and at the same time not very popular. Hopefully my work will still be appreciated by some people that share the same love of these characters as I do.
That being said, I am also up for suggestions if anybody want to give me a nice challenge to make a costume they would like to see. And if you like a costume I do have, show a friend! Also feel free to ask me any questions and I will try to answer. Though I still consider myself a beginner, I would be happy to share what little knowledge I have. Thanks all!

Haha you thought wrong. I have nothing better to do since I work all week haha. It's 24th for me. And if you want all the details, it's 3a.m. so as of 6 minutes ago I was exactly 24 years old. Guess I was destined to be a night owl from day 1.

I believe it says time of birth on your birth certificate. Maybe it was only on my "unofficial" birth certificate that the hospital provided if it is not on the legal one. Too bad I can't know the details that actually matter though.

Well you're American, so it's possible that yours do and ours don't. I have no idea where mine is though, I know the small version doesn't gave time, but maybe the large one does? I dunno...

Hmm... I'm not sure. I suppose useful details like where I put my car keys haha. I guess most details not involving numbers I fail at. I'm sure some of them are important-ish. Oh, and sources, sources are important. I never remember where I heard/read something, so sometimes people think I made something up since I have no idea where I saw it.

Indeed. I will be Sephiroth next year, and since you will be Zack for a few years, I may even redo my Genesis Rhapsados Cosplay in a year or two. I'm sure we can get some good pics together.

I'm trying to go to Otakon, but it really depends on if I can afford it. So mostly smaller ones around NY is what I have to stick to aside from AB. Hopefully I can make Otakon an annual thing as well.

there is a small one in Albany, about 45 minutes from me. There is also one in Rochester that is a bit bigger, but still nowhere near the size of AB. and yeah I don't have a facebook.

Similar to others I suppose. Where did you find your magnet for your sword? I have looked up rare earth and neodymium magnets, but can't seem to find a large plate like you had.

Out of curiosity, how heavy is your Caius cosplay? I had mine on for like ten minutes just to snap some pics and it was already starting to stick to me a bit -___-

Hmm....I don't have it on hand to check, but I don't remember it weighing much more than a regular outfit of say jeans and a leather jacket. Everything I used was pretty lightweight. It did get pretty hot, particularly under the sleeves and especially under the leg armor.

May I ask where you got your fabric for your Caius cosplay? I'm having a hard time finding some purple pleather for mine....

I think www.onlinefabricstore.net. They let you buy samples for $1 so you can see the fabric before you buy it. I couldn't get exactly what I wanted, but I had to settle with it since I couldn't find it anywhere else. Also I bought vinyl instead of pleather.

It's true. It's just personal preference. I just found vinyl more readily available in just about any color. I imagine pleather would be more comfortable though haha

There are 2 shades of purple. I only used one, however, since I couldn't find another color that was right. Instead I just made the armor pieces a different shade of purple and called it close enough haha. It drove me nuts looking for 2 shades of vinyl to use together, but I simply couldn't find them under $100 a yard.

$100 a yard?! O.O Shesh I get my black red and blue for 5 and the purple I found for 10...Anyway, one more question: Did you sew the armor ontop of the blue first or after you sewed the blue togther? Im mainly trying to figure out the sleeves...

The first thing I did was make a "Jacket"ish peice out of the faux leather stuff. After that I sewed the details on and cut the hole in the sleeve. The blue part underneath was actually just a pair of blue long johns. Its only sewn on in the back, I didn't even attach it at sleeves( so i can pull them out and wash them when i get sweaty and stinky haha) The sleeves did require the majority of the troubleshooting for sure.

Ah. Well Im actually sewing all of it together. I wanna try and some workmanship awards for this one. I was just gonn hand wash it when needed and such. got a few cosplays like that...

Well I hope to get as much done over the summer as possible. Mid October is my dead line for a con. However on top of this I not only have to work, but make Serahs bikini, XIII-2 Lightning, and part of Cloud Strife before August @_@ Death by cosplay....
