Or did there were another questions after that?

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-10-21 21:23:30 +0000 UTC]

It's getting glitchy I think. v_v
You answered the one about shoes if I remember correctly.
And I think the other questions were about socks which brand is good and doesn't stretch out badly or the pictures don't break apart if stretched around bigger calfs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-10-24 16:24:23 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, I remember that I wrote something about shoes. ^_^
Socks are difficult. Most of the socks with pictures/pattern look the best on skinny legs.
I never thought I would be thickish or something, but just when it comes to socks, I also have some problems.
Asian sizes are generally very small, and the socks are for people with legs like yarn. u_u
But just the plain socks which (for example) do have some lace on the top actually fit everyone.
There are some good ones from Bodyline. I bought there two simple pairs with lace on top and i really like them.
Today also brand socks are made slightly larger and stretchy.
I wear a lot of Angelic Pretty and I noticed that at least the newer socks are bigger than older ones.
I heard the same thing about Moi-mΓͺme-MoitiΓ© socks. ^-^
The brands know that they have many European and other non-Asian customers.
Therefore they produce their clothes slightly larger and more stretchable.
Secret Shop is always a good alternative to brands. Unfortunately, these socks are very small.
(The replicas of branded socks can be even smaller than the original!)
So, you may have to play around a bit to find the right legwear.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-10-26 03:52:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I've noticed that a lot of Lolita girls have twig legs lol
Oh good I wanted some lace socks from Bodyline but wasn't sure if the lace would rip around thick calves.
Which are cheaper out of all those brands?

Does any brand make cute designed tights?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-11-02 15:26:42 +0000 UTC]

I recommend the socks of Bodyline. They are really nice. ^^
Most are quite stretchy and fit well with thicker legs.
Socks of "real" brands (like Angelic Pretty, Moi MΓͺme MoitΓ© or Baby the Stars Shine bright) are always more expensive.
Compared to "normal" socks you wear in everyday life it's just a price you would not pay for socks. XD
Metamorphose temps de fille is often quite affordable. Since there are socks for under $20. For other brands you have to pay more or less something about $30 or up to about $70.
As far as I know all the big brands sell tights.
But they are in most cases onesize. So they are usually small.
I own some Angelic Pretty tights and they are really beautiful but it fits not properly. But the sizes vary.
It's difficult to conclude from one pair of all the others.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-11-03 02:38:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah brand is always worth the name lol
70 bucks for socks holy cow that is insaine.
See I've wondered that but I have never seen tights on any of the big brand names sites so I was rather curious. But if they are all small then I will prolly never be able to fit into them then.

What is the best place with multiple accessory options from sweet to gothic?
I haven't found a good place that has either matching sets from necklaces, bracelets and rings. Or one that has a lot of different kinds of necklaces, bracelets and rings. Just usually maybe one set and only a few other choices.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-11-03 21:23:43 +0000 UTC]

Yes, you pay for sure one third alone for the brand name. XD Maybe more.
Here are a few examples (I forgot that in my last answer):
something cute (AP makes lots of thights): [link]
a very common design: [link]
and a classic design (i love this type of thights): [link]
Oh yes, that's difficult. I think Chocomint sell a lot of accessory from sweet to classic and gothic.
The shop on Rakuten: [link]
But it's not easy to buy this stuff. It's sold out fast.
Sometimes local stores are good to.
There's a shop (which called Claires) and also sell stuff that goes well with Lolita. Also well matching sets.
I bought a pretty set with earrings, necklace and ring with roses there.
I don't know if there are stores like this in your area.
In a pinch, you can also find a lot of accessory on ebay.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-11-04 20:12:13 +0000 UTC]

Oh there is a Claires in the UK. That is so cool I thought it was only in the US. Wow that is something I would have never known. They do say you learn new things everyday and I just did. lol

Is there a way to make Rakuten in english and us dollars?
Also what is the brand for hair accessories that are durable but not to pricey and come in different colors and styles?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-11-10 15:35:00 +0000 UTC]

I thought there are Claires shops all over europe. ^-^
And some other useful shops like Accessorize and bijou brigitte.
Haha, yes. It's true. I learn something new every day.
Even if it's usually completely useless stuff.

Oh yes. There is. On the right side on the rakutensite, you can set everything: country and currency. --> [link]
For affordable hair accessories you can look at Bodyline.
Usually I buy the hair accessories that matches the dresses.
Everything else (like Roses made of fabric) I buy in "normal" stores or from chocomint.
I've lots of chocomint accessories, but all of this stuff is really cute and it's suitable for sweet styles.
Some Lolitas that I know do it this way:
When you buy (for example) a skirt with waistties, then you can sew a matching hair bow out of them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-11-11 02:05:39 +0000 UTC]

I've never been far from home nor out of this sate so I wouldn't know where American stores are located around much, which is a shame I so wish I could travel the world.

Oh thank goodness I was like o.o I dunno Japanese nor know how many yen is in a dollar lol
Is chocomint made really well and don't break so easily if dropped accedently or bumped against something? And are they good at not getting scratched when worn out doing things? Or shall I say it simpler lol are they durable haha?

That is a pretty smart idea specially if the waist tie can use a couple inches off each side and not look any different.

What is the best brand for doll like false lashes and those circle lenses that both are comfortable and lasting?
Preferably a brand with multiple options on styles or colors.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-11-13 20:21:31 +0000 UTC]

Yes, for you it is more difficult.
The States are so huge. Even to get to another state you have to drive a long distance.
And it's a very long flight to Europe.
European countries are all quite close together.
After a short distance, I'm in another country with a different culture.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean.
Meanwhile, I have a feeling for exchange rates because I buy so much stuff on the Internet. XD
And it's easy to convert yen into euros. At least approximately.
Convert yen into dollars is not so easy. So I have a slight advantage.
But if a website is only in Japanese, then uhm .. I only see unintelligible Chinese. XD
The quality of the products of Chocomint is pretty good.
However, I don't wear the jewelery every day, so I don't know how it would be if I would do that.
But in general, the items seem to be very durable.
Especially in comparison with other, smaller manufacturers.

Yes! And there are some good tutorials on the internet. They show well how to sew hair bows with the waist ties.

The best false eyelashes are from Dolly Wink or Diamond Lash.
Unfortunately these are often quite expensive. But they are also durable, and generally of good quality.
If you still want to practice a little bit (because it can be difficult at the beginning), then there are several pairs of lashes which I like very much from Bodyline.
And the pair of them only costs about a dollar.
Circle lenses are very difficult. Many people recommend Geo and EOS.
But it always depends on the eye and the possible compatibility.
Fortunately, I have no problems, but that doesn't say anything.
Here you have to try what works best.
I don't want to make advertising, but I like this shop: [link]
Because here you absolutely certain. You know you are buying the real thing.
A major problem with lenses are fake products of poor quality. You should be careful.
Poor lenses can make you blind!

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-11-13 23:33:17 +0000 UTC]

Wow that is wicked cool that with a short distance your in a new country.

Lol yeah yen to dollars is kinda difficult.
That is good to know. I don't plan to wear the jewlery everyday but wanted to know more if when wearing it if I am out and about it doesn't chip or break easily if doing activities that might cause it to bump anything hard.

That is one thing I love about youtube there are a lot of Lolita tutorials from how to be one, dress like one and make the clothes of one.

Wow that is a steal, only one dollar for a pair of lashes. Very cheap and afforable.
Do you happen to have a link in english to GEO and EOS?
Oh I don't mind you advertising to help me out at all. ^^
Wow thanks for that tip about contacts I didn't even know that.

Whats the best way to keep Lolita shoes in good condition so they last a long time without getting broken, scuffed to hell, scratched all over and etc?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-11-24 14:53:34 +0000 UTC]

The good thing with Chocomint stuff is that lot of the jewelery is made from material that is quite durable.
Many smaller jewelery manufacturers use polymer clay and silicone (particularly for cute and sweet lolita suitable stuff).
This jewelery breaks down quickly.
I'm sitting at home after every big convention and glue and repair my jewelery. XD

Yes! That's also what I like about youtube. There are a lot of useful videos.
But i don't like all the "white" people disseminating their smattering. XD
There are so many unintentionally funny videos about Lolita fashion.
Just recently I saw a video in which a girl said that she would now try Lolita "Cosplay".
And she showed a maid costume to the camera. Even she said that the fashion would come from the girls in anime. XDDD Poor thing.
I'm glad that more and more Japanese upload something there.

Yes only a dollar and they are good. And at that price it also doesn't hurt if they accidentally break.
That can happen when you experiment a little.
These lashes have a good price performance ratio. ^^
Oh no, unfortunately not. Geo and Eos no longer sell directly to customers (far as I know).
I buy my lenses always from loveshoppingholics.com since 2 years now.
It's a good and trustworthy seller. For each purchase, there are nice gifts like cute contact lens case.
Oh no, I sound like advertising. XD But it's the truth.

I think you should simply handle them like "normal" shoes.
Just clean your shoes regularly with shoe polish and be careful in the wet and rain.
It depends on the material.
Many Lolita shoes are not made of real leather, but they are made of synthetic leather.
Real Leather also needs to be greased. But for synthetic materials that is not necessary. ^^

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-12-01 08:34:01 +0000 UTC]

Holy cow glueing it back together that stinks

Yeah I have been seeing a lot more things on facebook about white or japanese lolitas downing black girls doing it. It's pretty wrong since it's fashion not a racial thing.

Oooo I love free gifts with purchases lol can't go wrong with that. It's ok you didn't sound like advertizing if anything you gave me more incintive to want to buy from there when I get lenses.

What is the best cleaner products for Lolita shoes?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2012-12-08 22:56:47 +0000 UTC]

There are so many japanese people who don't like to see non-japanese people in Lolita.
One girl told me that some of them don't like the girls, because they buy all the clothes and it's harder now to get something.
Moreover, Europeans and people from other countries are all too thick, tall and ugly.
But fortunately, not all girls think that way. ^-^
I know some very lovely and friendly Japanese Lolitas.
All people should be more tolerant, we all have the same hobby. ^u^

Yeah! I love free gifts too. XD Everyone loves them right? XD
Again to the contact lenses:
I checkt it and you can buy contact lenses from geo also their store: [link]
It's been a long time since I ordered there.
But I've heard from others who have made good experiences with this store.

Well usually I clean my shoes with a cloth or soft shoe brush when they are a little dirty (from the street dust or something similar).
Only very rarely they are really dirty. I'm careful with my shoes. ^-^
To protect them, I also use shoe polish and waterproofing spray.
You simply apply this to the clean shoes and then they look longer like new.
Waterproofing spray is useful for boots, but sometimes i use it for some extra protection for all my other shoes too.
You should make sure that you use colorless shoe polish.
Because it's not cool when you use (just for example) brown shoe cream for white shoes.
You can use normal shoe care products for your Lolita shoes.
There's nothing special on the market. ^-^

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2012-12-09 02:28:20 +0000 UTC]

If they don't like anyone outside of Japan to wear Lolita then why would let allow us to buy and wear it? I think it's just the ones that are jealous that we can afford nice things that takes them longer to get so they use that rude nature to say we look terrible in Lolita or stuff like that.
If they want the clothes they should save up more money to be able to buy the items they want when it comes out the first week. But then again hopefully from that the stores will produce more knowing there is a big demand for it.
It's ok I am not that great looking and I am short and fat, I know what you mean by that, big girls in Lolita get a bad end of the stick as well.
I know right I would think people would be happy the fashion is growing and becoming more popular all over the world to where if anyone was to travel anywhere they are bound to meet some Lolitas anywhere and not feel out of place. And I think they would be honored that other girls wanna look as good as them instead of taking it rudely. I mean sheesh Japanese people are all about honor and such yet now days it seems they don't have any more.

Thanks for the link hun, it is much appreciated. ^^

Oh my I definatly don't want to make that mistake and dye some expencive shoes a different color lol. I would die.
What brand of shoe polish do you use on your Lolita shoes?
And what brand of waterproof spray?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Louyse In reply to VampirePatrice666 [2013-01-12 16:56:28 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for my super late answer. I took a little break from some
activities and I was only slightly active on the Internet.
I had a lot to do. And it will not get better.
It's a new year already and that means the exam period at university starts.
>///<
I hope you had wonderful holidays and I also hope you get some nice gifts for christmas! ^-^

Least, the Japanese, who don't like to see foreigner wearing Lolita
can not change it. Finally they can't do anything about the situation,
that people outside of Japan also like to dress in this style.
Unfortunately, the stores don't produce larger quantities,
although they know the demand is high. -_-
A good example for that are the Lucky Packs.
Now, at the beginning of the new year, was the time
when most japanese companies release their Lucky Packs.
This is like war in the shops! On the websites they are also
often sold out quickly. Okay, they wouldn't call it LUCKY pack,
if you don't need luck to get one.
On the international website of Angelic Pretty, the Lucky Packs were sold out in 3 seconds. 3 seconds! lol
The shops are interested to sell limited quantities.
Thus, the high price is justified and the buyer may have to have the feeling to buy something special.
That's not very buyer friendly. -_-
Sometimes, even in the international community, I tend to feel
it's all about money and not about Lolita fashion.

Haha, I made this mistake. But I made it accidentally. XD
Oh, I guess that doesn't help you, when I tell you what products I use.
Because it's just something from our local shoe and drugstore.
The shoe polish is from the little brand rubin and the waterproof spray is by pure nature.
I think, they don't sell it where you live. ^_^;
But maybe you can get help by someone in a shop in your area. ^-^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VampirePatrice666 In reply to Louyse [2013-01-12 19:57:50 +0000 UTC]

It's ok. I hope you also had a great Christmas and New Years. I will cross my fingers for you to pass your exams with flying colors.

Holy cow 3 seconds o.o' That doesn't give much wiggle room area for anyone to get one lol

Yeah Lolita is pretty over priced and highly about money and not entirely enjoyment of the fashion. Trying to get a second hand for half the price is like one girl told me "an insult". It's crazy, I'm trying to buy something you've worn, it's not new. Most places anywhere that sell clothes second hand no matter the fashion, just the fact they have been worn alone they usually drop the price in half because of that very reason.

Thanks I will try and find something that works well for the shoes somewhere around here ^.^

I hope one day when people start to notice Lolita is a big thing everywhere they will make more demands, bigger and variety of sizes or just open to custom orders and also low prices a whole lot so anyone can afford them. Even girls in Japan have to save so much just to get their dress straight from the original shops while still living at home because they can't afford the Lolita clothes and rent. But I don't see that day coming any time soon which is a total shame.

I hope you fared well in all the time.
A few things changed but then again a lot of things are still like ever. Lolita is still awfully
expensive and especially the second hand market is just overpriced.
Again sorry for the late reply. Well, I hope you've a nice week!

That was the reason why I wasn't wearing Lolita,

good paid job and so I was able to buy a few things.
But now I'm back to the no-money-state and that sucks.

No problem I love your work and your Lolita outfits.
I had a question for you actually... where do you get all your adorable Lolita accessories?(bows, rings, necklaces, bracelets, hair clips)
Because I can never find anything like that on the web any where.
