here is more we can't can't comment on the deviation any more since the person deactivated their account so we can comment here so here it is
the team avatar while on a trip to see the earth king is ambushed by a mysterious group of people (red lotus) and they are saved a hooded person who turns out to be Kya (Katara and Sokka's mother) happily reunited and kind of demanding answers they camp for the night. basically katara and sokka tell the rest of team avatar about their mother other than just her bravery to save katara but also katara reveals that Kya was a waterbender and that katara discovered she was one when she mimicked her movements but however she always kept it a secret and didn't tell anyone the truth until that point later on but however Kya also reveals that she is the avatar after aang and that she is from the future and that her real name is Korra and also explains that she was fighting the red lotus along with her friends and mentors when all of a sudden a spirit appeared but not just any spirit turns out the spirit is tempus the spirit of time and that he is angered with the fighting of the red lotus and team avatar for destroying places sacred to the spirits as well as them destroying plenty of human life as well so planning to restore his own version of balance himself and to make sure that no one stands in his way he exiles team avatar, the white lotus, and the red lotus to the past Korra was the first to land in the past in the southern water tribe during the hundred year war she is without her coat and their is a snowstorm and she is saved by Hakoda(Katara and sokka's father) Korra changes her name to Kya almost by instinct the two fall in love and have Sokka and Katara but however During the raid that supposedly killed her she was actually used her avatar powers to well you get the idea and also watched as Katara and Sokka grew up and couldn't help but shed tears she eventually went to ba sing se and was reunited with team avatar, family and mentors but the moment is also heartbreaking not only because of Korra also happening to be Kya( katara and sokka's mother) but also the fact that they had arrived in the past just recently meaning not aging one bit while korra had been in the past for years and thus aged quite a bit and thus she plans to reunite with younger katara and sokka but also having to fight the red lotus who are planning to engage their plan in the past so it would already happen basically it's up to The previous and current team avatar to stop the red lotus and azula from succeeding but also Katara and Sokka bonding with their mother and Hakoda reuniting with Kya/Korra

uh sort of but not exactly Korra is like i said sent back through time by tempus and through being in the past she becomes Kya and embraces it as her new identity and also the fact that tempus was behind Korra to be Kya for Katara would have never have became a waterbender if she didn't well you get the picture
