if not a plywood shield - it would be super... Anyway - excelent

Have to use plywood.
If I would make the shield historicaly accurate it would brake the first time I used it. Marine plywood, however, is sturdy and can take a lot of hard beating.
Not quite as good looking, but functional.

Amm... I'm using historical shield, and my coleagues uses too normal wooden shields. Believe me - Im using my shield already second year. And believe me - we fight faar more harder than in sweden... On next month on 16-17 days I will be in festival in Sundsvall and on next weekend in Ryddarhittan. between them I will spens some time in Stokholm. So if You want - we can met. I not that much into fighting (though it is fun weilding the sword from time to time). I really into the viking reenactment for the mead and the historical craft.
