i transferred to VCU..because it wasn't for me either. not a lot of diversity or culture and their art program sucked. :[

Plus I'm kiiiilling for some city life! Need to get outta here. But I noticed that VCU has it in writing that they give priority for their own students who want into their med school.

from what I've heard they have a pretty awesome med program here, and plus richmond is AMAZING.. and i know you're into art so there's a lot of that here too!

I thought you were going to transfer for sophomore year! But yeah, I need to give some more serious thought to transferring. Need to make sure I reaaally am serious about the med school part of it. Obviously, you're interested in art..because we're on an art site. So are you in the art school there?

yessir i am. i wanted to transfer sooner rather than later because of the AFO program they have here. (if you dono what that is, its like a prerequisite year of study in different areas of art before you go into your intended major)
i apply this coming march for my major! O.o
i'm a bit nervous, and there's a bunch of shit going on with my transfer credits..blegh
if you want to transfer though, you really need to get started on the whole process soon! reason being that there's just issues what with the differences in the programs and such.. if you have a questions feel free to ask me, and i can try to help ya out :]

And I know the normal VCU liberal arts transfer date is the first of June, but what did you mean "the differences in the programs?" I think I might just be transferring into the liberal arts school as a bio or chem major. Didn't know about confusing programs..

AP credits? I couldn't imagine you'd have to take many gen eds in their college of art. And JMU's gen ed skip requirements are higher than VCU's lib. arts college requirements, at least. So I'll just leave it at: I'm confused and that sounds like a bitch.
And I'm not sure about the med field. I picked JMU and VCU as part of my college search because they both had great medical tracks and had art as a possible alternate. I may be in VCU school of art some day o_o

they accepted all my AP credits, but there was a mix up with my AP Studio class that i took senior year and because of the university mistake i was one credit short from being able to apply to my major this semester. thank the good lord I've sorted everything out, and well on my way to starting my career in the arts :]
i personally think you'd enjoy it here, but the decision is up to you. i also feel like when you're faced with decisions like the one you're trying to make between medicine and art, it all comes down to following your heart. that sounds really corny, but try to imagine whether or not you'd be happy in ten years if you chose one path or the other. haha at least that's how i decided last semester.. (i wanted to study biology and be a researcher)
