How am I? Pretty wonky. To tell you the truth I've been certifiably insane, in and out of the loony bin. I've had to take the past 6 months off of grad school (for psychology, haha, oh the irony) to deal with it all since it just got to the point that it was interfering with my life too much and I couldn't function in the slightest. My brain is a bit...defunct. Seeing things that aren't there, switching back and forth between different identities in my head, etc, etc.

I hope you are doing well. <3 Sorry I haven't been more in touch but yeah...I've lost touch with most of my friends over the past couple years.

How are all your critters doing? I've now got a kitten to go with my loooong pink snake. ^_^

Irony indeed...but that sucks. I myself am feeling senior burnout and have realized that, maybe, being a classics major actually SUCKS for me. There wasn't a major for "monster researching," though...

As soon as I get my house clean...it's scary in here. o_o I can't see my floor.

I've been too crazy to keep it clean the past couple months...but now, I'm less crazy and wanna stay healthy. XD!

But I worked on more of it last night before I went to bed. The first time I've looked at a translation in months. I'm kinda intimidated by it...tbh. But I'm trying to get back to my old self.

Ah...It's just when I look at what I've already done (I have all but 4 pages done), it looks really nice. But, I haven't done anything for a while, so I just feel like I don't know what I'm doing quite so much. Like it's been 10 years since I last typeset something.

Silly, I know, but I just feel so rusty. =_= And I have a commission to finish, etc, so I just feel overwhelmed with looking at the quality of what I did in May...and then being afraid that I can't match it since I'm out of practice. ;_;

But, I think you might understand it a bit, as you are an artist, after all. <3 It feels good to be at the top of your skills--and disheartening when you slip.

Oh my, yeah I understand this very well, I used to draw a lot and gave up for nearly 3 years...then I came back on drawing this April..damn it's so hard Y_Y like...having to learn everything again.. feeling ashamed of what ya do etc -_- Improving is so hard

Thats okay if you don't have anything--I was just wondering, since I occasionally release raws and translation previews as f-list only events. We would have to be mutual friends if you wanted to see any of those--I will be releasing some of my Mayuri based doujinshi by the circle "Calavera" this week, so it's on my mind.

I actually have even more to scan! My 12th squad doujinshi lists aren't at all current. I have at least 10 more to put up there. ^_^;;; I also found a brand new Ura/Mayu doujin artist--and her style is fantastic!

Since Eyvindr partners with me for my Urahara/Mayuri scanlations...she and I need to sit down and figure out what ones we want to do next. I couldn't imagine doing any of this without her. (If you don't read her Ura/Mayu fiction...you should.)

I post everything that I translate up on my livejournal.

It is all indexed by pairing with m progress in translation marked--so you can find the Urahara/Mayuri stuff I have already translated...as well as the covers and progress of the Mayuri-related books that I will release soon!

The books themselves vary on cost. The shortest book cost me about 600 Yen and the anthologies cost me about 2500 Yen.

But, I had to work with the doujinshi artists themselves to buy them...and they don't ship outside of Japan. So, I had to use the address of a friend of mine who lives in Japan and then he shipped them to me in the USA. So in total, my entire Ura/Mayu collection costs about 120 US dollars after all the shipping charges. If you add in my Mayuri gen...it's probably closer to 200 US dollars.

I know that there are a few online services out there that will help you order things if you don't have a friend who lives in Japan, so don't worry about that.

Yeah, I have 3 online handles...Russanya is my oldest penname (I've had it for 13 years now). Any of my "Vixen" names were originally intended to give me a place to post anything that could possibly have adult materials in it (like my livejournal name vixenofargentum).
