heyhey, We're just setting up a sketch-jamming session in edinburgh that we'll hopefully run on the first wednesday of every month. Basically it's gonna be a drink n' draw with some good tunes, where people of all levels who enjoy a good doodle can get together. Nothing too structured or stuffy, no bigger picture. The first get together is this week, just want to see if any of the nice folk on DA are interested? Check out the journal to see who's involved so far

there is. you should scan in the image as usual (theres not even a need to turn it to greyscale), and then open the resulting image in photoshop. now, make a new layer and fill it with solid black. now select that new layer and go to layer: layer mask: reveal all. then select all and copy the drawn image, click the channels palette, and click the little visibility icon next to the new mask layer. invert the mask (control/command-i) and click the visibility icon again. then you can go back and delete the original drawing layer and start colouring in on a new layer behind the masked one.
kinda hard to explain but i hope you can work it out.
