I'm working on the black-red one.. the one with the only red "belt", not those, I think it was the earlier version in 'the golden army', where the belt is red -and- black hanging down.. I think this first version looks a bit curios and could irritate on photographies >.>*

Hehe, I stalked her fantastic works before
Especially the weapons... wow! I think I couldn't finish one of his weapons up to march, 17th.. but in the nearer future, I'll try ^^
Even if I could finish a small weapon - the weapon laws here in Germany on conventions are very strict. Not to big, not mainly made of wooden parts, no sharp edges... pah. This sucks. If I really want to hurt a person, I don't need any weapons, at least I could kick this person barefoot where sun never shines xD But what would Germany be if there isn't a rule for everything =/
How is it with weapon rules in Canada?

Canada is not as lenient as the states is, but Im pretty sure it would be okay to take a "decorative" weapon out in public...not that I have tried LOL! I guess they make these rules to keep some form of control, but your right in the fact that if you really wanted to hurt someone weapons are not needed

Ya, Gabbys weapons are pretty damn cool. Her spear is acually on a trigger switch so it can shrink and extend. If I didnt love her so much I would surely have to hate her for being so talented!! haha!!

A few years earlier it wasn't as strict as today here, too... weapon modells in publicity were no prob, wooden accesoires on cosplays were no prob, too. But then they changed the law, maybe 'cause some peashooter gun really looks too real, if you can't read the little words on its lead fouling =/

Some switch like the typical ones in umbrellas? The material the spear is made of must be very hard that it won't broke, cool^^ What was it, mouldable plastic or kinda similiar?

That sucks when one person ruins it for everyone else SO you cant even carry wooden ones anymore? That IS an evil law!!!

And I cant fully remember how the switch worked. She is full of tricksy tricks though. Mr.Winks mechanical hand shot out on the chain too...LOL You should stop by her page and ask her about it. She made everything herself - including the wig. I know the whole thing didnt cost all THAT much, but it was fairly time consuming

Yea, I've read something like 7 months only for the weapons, if I imagine it correctly. Hats off to her!!
By now, we're writing over smaller details around his neck^^

hmn, you could carry wooden weapons around in the train.. or make photos with such a weapon outside of a convention. but not take it into a convention hall, that's forbidden by 95% of all organizers. and those peashooter guns looking like real ones are forbidden by german laws afaik.

wow thats rediculous...especially since most good cosplays NEED a weapon of some sort, thats why they are good!! A big outrageous and totally wicked one...covered in BLOOOOOOOD!!! haha ok ok I might be getting a tad carried away hahahhaa!!! I might have witnessed too much anime and comic book violence ...If there IS such a thing as "too much" LOL!

mit goldener acrylfarbe anpinseln
wenn du die farbe beim stoff ein biiiisschen verdünnst, dürfte der dann auch glitzern, aber die farbe drauf nicht brechen, weil sie halb einzieht anstatt sich obendrauf wie ne dicke schicht zu legen (die dann brechen würde)

würde dir 500ml empfehlen, 100ml sind zu wenig für die gesamte rüstung. im preis ist die farbe jedenfalls spitze

als basis nimmste am besten gipsbinden, 3lagig etwa. darauf packste lufttrocknende modelliermasse, mit der dus ausformst. beim trocknen unbedingt aufpassen, dass es sich nicht verformt..! monsterstabil sind die stützenden gipsbinden drunter auch nicht ^^°
das kopfteil am besten stück für stück modellieren und zwischendurch trocknen lassen. sollten die teile nicht aneinander halten, sei so skrupellos und bedien dich einfach einer heißklebepistole. kleine kanten, die da bleiben, kannst du super mit ungekörnter acrylpaste (steht im bastelladen neben strukturpaste ) ausfüllen und dann alles glattschleifen
für den schwanz würd ichn unterbau aus zurechtgeschnitzten styropor nehmen, die "knöchelchen" auf dicken draht aufziehen und dann mit goldenem stoff verkleiden. so sollte er leicht und biegbar bleiben. da aber keinen heißkleber nehmen zum stoff anbringen.. hab das mal probiert.. das styropor geht da schneller ein als schnee in der sauna XD
wenn noch was unklar ist, frag ruhig weiter ich könnt ewig und drei tage über cos reden *smile*
