I need something to give me a little practice and figured you might be a good person to give me some sort of challenge...and let you know you're not forgotten while you take your involuntary sabbatical from DAZ.

How you doing lately? Are you able to at least browse the public threads, even though you can't play?

I can still browse and (surprising enough) PM, just can't go kick people's butts in there for 3 months lol, too bad, I was enjoying that boobie war lol.

Err... this "X-wing", first of all, I was kidding ya. Are these actual space ships you made or something? And what's with the offer of putting an image one one? Got lots of nice renders to use, but I'll need to know what size you want them, and if you want long or wide.

So did you get enough practice and... laugh... picking on me about this "involuntary sabbatical" thing? LOL!!

Well, glad you can browse at least. Would suck trying to catch up after totally missing out for three months!

The X-wings are indeed 3-D. Painstakingly modeled in Lightwave thanks to a couple hundred reference photos -- many from some cool person who got high-res shots of the original hand-made models displayed at the Smithsonian.

I may eventually convert my models to Poser, but it'd have to be free so I've not been in a hurry, lol. Was a s-load of work building those... ::checks:: 84,893 polygons each ship, including R2-D2. Same procedural pattern for the dirt on each copy, but each color times five ranks (stripes on wings) are set up individually...at least 40 versions including the black sets. The R2 units have different colors too, lol.

I know you were kidding, but I've been feeling a little stale on inspiration lately. Need to force myself to do some work and somebody else giving me a bit of a challenge might be just what I need, heh. That's the practice I was referring to.

As for the girl, I was thinking something like classic U.S. fighters and bombers have had, like a girlie mascot image painted on the side of the nose. If you've got a particular image in mind, I might be able to go with that...something like a reclining pose might work well, landscape orientation. If not, just point me in the right direction and I'll take care of that render, too.

Hyperspace, shooting, parked someplace; wherever you want the thing, let me know. I'll figure out how to get it there and make it look badass. My earliest image here shows more detail with the back side and some blaster fire. The wings are posable for hyperspace jumps, though none of my renders here show that...yet.
