# About me

Former professional illustrator from the RPG industry. I worked exclusively for Palladium Books Inc. (www.palladiumbooks.com) for 10 years or so and have artwork published in something like 100 books ranging from their Fantasy game to the well known Rifts line, though a lot of my work focused on their Heroes Unlimited super hero game line, primarily due to the fact that I authored a significant portion of the Heroes Unlimited supplements at the time and contributed to the second edition release of the core rules. Other books I wrote were for the Rifts line (Spirit West) and the Robotech license (Strike Force and expanded sections of Return of the Masters).

A number of factors contributed to my move out of professional art, and now I just try to find the time to make art in the limited free time between working a real job.

I'm constantly trying to keep the creative juices flowing and share with my fans as much as possible. In addition to the work here on DA, I am slowly working on other ventures with my art, including items not available here on DA, such as shirts and other items over at cafepress.com, and less mainstream (i.e. adult) experiments over at hentai-foundry.

You're a very talented artist; your departure from the professional art industry is truly our loss. I imagine retiring from doing what you love is pretty tough to shoulder, but it's cool that you're still drawing - you have my respect.

When you take away the pressure of having to do something to keep yourself afloat, it's surprising how much better your art becomes! One would think that without the need to keep drawing, they would slip into bad habits and slack off, but that's not always the case - it's clearly worked for you.

I truly enjoyed your visions for the revamped Coalition States in the War Campaign book! I also loved your Robotech art as well! I would love to see an imagining of the CS meeting Robotech.

It would be like the decepticons for Robotech. Ha! Could be some really interesting designs, I just wish I had time to do some tinkering in that area, but I have a pretty full schedule right now.

You did a drawing of the Armored Logan Veritech in your Revised Version of the Return of the mastersbook that is still today one of my favorite pieces of Art. I use it as a screen Saver at least a few times a year. Thank you for giving me (and Others) art that made the game come alive for us.Β

You are quite welcome.

That piece and the others for the Masters material are still some of my favorite mech art, and it kind of stings that it was a swan song of sorts, as that was some of the last art I did while working for Palladium. I miss doing illustration, but I am very happy now that I get to draw whatever I feel like putting on a page. Hopefully, some of the current and future art will find a place alongside that super Logan. Enjoy!

Just picked up 2 books from Heroes Unlimited with your name on the Spines. Aliens unlimited and the Galaxy Guide. Very nice work Sir. Really wish you had been able to write more in that RPG. I think that my players like that particular space campaign as opposed to the 3 Galaxies Rifts line. Anyways, always nice to read a good RPG with excellent Artwork.

Thanks! It's great to still hear such comments after all this time.

Aliens Unlimited was the first supplement I wrote and did most of the art for, and the Galaxy Guide was one of the last, and you can definitely see the growth between the two. I had hoped to expand more of the Heroes Unlimited line, but such was not destined to be; although, the first Atorian sourcebook for AU was written and is at Palladium, so maybe one day we will both get to see another Aliens Unlimited book. *fingers crossed*

Really?? They have it, but haven't published it? I second your crossed fingers! It's kind of saddening that I just really gotten into RPGs and books that seem completely new and fresh to me, but were quite a while ago for you. If I annoy you by asking about such things, please let me know. Fanboys so rarely realize when we are being annoying and all.Β

It's quite alright. I'm always happy to see new people finding roleplaying or new fans finding my old stuff. I still RP when I can, I just don't have the time to write or draw professionally anymore.

Full story on the Atorian book: I finished writing it and did a chunk of the key art (clans, vehicles, robots), but not enough to fill the book. When I had to leave Palladium, we were hoping I would be able to come back eventually or find the time to do the art for the sourcebook, but that never happened and the manuscript just kind of sat there. A couple of years ago, I talked to Kevin Siembieda and let him know he could publish it without me, so hopefully it will see print one of these days.

Deviant art is a big place, and it's the primary place I post outside Facebook, so I guess it's not hard to miss my blip in this sea of great art.

Thanks for the great critique. It's taken me far too much time to get to this point, but life can be challenging that way (as of this posting I haven't drawn much of anything in almost 2 weeks). I'm glad you found me, however, and hope there will be much more art to come.

I lived in Taylor not too far from the HQ off Telegraph in the industrial court. You, Kevin Long and Larry Elmore were the artists I grew up with in my RPGs and novels. I'm so glad I found you! Keep up the inspiring, wonderful work!

Thanks!I had a blast doing the Spirit West book for Rifts. I've talked to Kevin S., and all I need to do is find the time to do some art and it will be in a book...unfortunately, finding the time to do commission type art is a major challenge these days, so we will have to see what pans out.
