Abilities: Teleportation. Though often said to be a necromancer, the Horned King is no great sorcerer. The Horned King is, surprisingly, more of a warrior, and his specialty in combat is with the sword.
Habits: Strangles Creeper on angry impulse. Collects the bodies of the dead, or recently deceased for future reanimation. The Horned King is always searching for the Black Cauldron.
Flaws: Terribly vulnerable toward water.

~~~~His past story
The Horned King wasn’t always the evil lich people knew him as now. He was just as normal as anyone else in Prydain; A human. A huntsman who had a simple living in life, and was quite happy with the family he had, what consisted of a wife and a son.
However, times were hard, and his happiness was not a lasting one. His wife had perished from an illness, and war was eminent. He and his son were eventually separated by a troop of knights in the service of Arawn Death-Lord, and he was taken prisoner. However, Arawn saw some capabilities in his new prisoner, and it was during this time where he became known as the Horned King of Annuvin.
Of course, this wasn’t to say that the Horned King was overly happy with Arawn’s methods. Still, he complied to serve the death-lord without any retorts. The Horned King was — Quite possibly — The strongest person Arawn could have ever had on his side. However, fate had taken a turn for the worst.
During their separation, the Horned King’s son had gone off to serve in the opposing army. When the Horned King led an ambush on the opposing knights in the service of then-high king Rhitta, the Horned King had found out that one of the knights was his own son. But it was too late. He had already taken the life of his own son, by the time he realized who he had killed.
The Horned King became more temperamental, and far more unmerciful. A month or so after the death of his son, the Horned King was approached by Achren — Sorceress of Annuvin, and former mentor of Arawn — Who had made a deal with the Horned King: Kill Arawn, and she would bring his son back.
However, whatever plan the Horned King had in the mutiny and assassination of Arawn had failed. The death-lord had caught wind of the plan and defeated the Horned King.
~~~~The Mask
As a symbol of his loyalty to Arawn, the death-lord had given a mask to the Horned King. The mask in question resembled a human skull with antlers protruding from the top. The mask also had an enchantment that would grant the wearer strength, as well as halt time, practically granting immortality — At least, denying and preventing them from aging and dying of it. Not only that, but the mask would grant the owner the ability to transform into a lich, if they so chose.
The mask would forever bind itself to whoever owns it. It would never choose another owner, unless the owner found it fit to bestow the mask upon another.
Upon his betrayal of Arawn, the death-lord had cursed the mask of the Horned King so that it would permanently attach itself and turn the wearer into a lich. Adding to that, the wearer would find instant death, if anyone uttered the Horned King’s true name.
The curse itself was quite simple to break: Removal. But only a different individual could remove the mask, and the Horned King was unaware of this. The Horned King has lived like this for more then two thousand years — Years in which he spent most of his time searching for the Black Cauldron — A crucible of molten iron that contained the spirit of Arawn, and was said to contain all the powers of the death-lord.
~~~~Ambition
After his defeat at the hands of Arawn, the Horned King was given no other choice but to retreat. For a time, people had simply assumed that the Horned King had perished in battle, but his body was never found. In truth, the Horned King had mostly kept to himself. It was impossible for the Horned King to have any form of socialization toward man-kind, so the Horned King kept a low profile.
The war continued, eventually ending with the fall of Arawn, and the imprisonment of the death-lord within the Black Cauldron. By this time, the Horned King had disassociated himself with man-kind, so set off to find the Black Cauldron.
His quest to find the Black Cauldron lasted for more then two thousand years. As time passed, the Horned King’s hunger for power increased. As did his hatred and loathing for mankind. Having disregarded his association with human kind, the Horned King viewed humans as being nothing more then pests, weak and frail.
No, not the Horned King. He was strong. He was… A god among mortal men.
~~~~Finding the Black Cauldron, and the demise of the Horned King
Time and research went into the Horned King’s search. The lich had gone to great lengths to find the Black Cauldron, from capturing the Princess of Llyr, to finding the oracular pig, Hen Wen. Despite this, Eilonwy’s golden Pelydryn was no help to the Horned King, and while Hen Wen was close to revealing the location of the Black Cauldron, the pig escaped before details were given.
But neither of these was what lead the Horned King to the Black Cauldron: Taran, the pig-keeper in charge of guarding Hen Wen, was the one to lead the Horned King, unknowingly, to the marshes of Morva, where the cauldron was kept.
At last, the Horned King’s search had ended. The Black Cauldron had now fallen into his possession. But despite all the time he put into his research, one important detail escaped him: Should anyone harness the powers of the Black Cauldron, their soul would be claimed by the death-lord within.
After Gurgi sacrificed his life to stop the army of undead warriors summoned from the Black Cauldron, the Horned King was consumed by the spirit within.

"Well, getting stuck in a foreign castle certainly wasn't on my list of things to do today." Dolfury, better known as Dolly, muttered as she brushed herself off. How that teleporation spell failed, she'll never know. She roamed the castle's rooms until she came to a room, the large window at the end broken, and a robed, skeletal figure overlooking the barren wasteland from a balcony. Curious, she crept closer, head tilting some in curiosity. "Hey, uh...don't kill me, but do you live here? It seems my spell backfired and I landed here."
