Uhhhh......still in the works?
To be honest I kinda put it on the back burner, but since you asked I might get back in the swing of things. Comic making is just really challenging especially since I have very little experience with it all. So instead of facing my problems head on, I avoided them and started working on other projects. But it's funny you ask now cause I flat ran out of any other ideas, so I figure it's about time I get back to comic making business.

I didn't want to sound hasty so that's why I didn't talk much about the comic. 

 You don't have to do the UT comic if you have others projects to finish.   

Btw I'm curious, what other projects are you planning to do besides the UT one?

Well when I say “projects”, I simply mean, “things I actually think have potential to be posted.”

It’s embarrassing to say, but most of the recent drawings you see on my page took a good amount of effort. I’m currently trying to improve in my artwork, so I have spent a good amount of my time saving references, watching tutorials and speed paints on YouTube, and sketch at any chance I get. So when I have an idea for a potential artwork I can post on DeviantArt I try my best to apply the things I’ve learned. However, since I’m still developing, there’s a lot of techniques and skills that I just don’t get the knack for quite yet, so it takes even longer for me to finish an artwork due to the mistakes I have to fix and skills I have to learn along the way.

I don’t mean to bore you with this so I’ll just cut to the case, almost any artwork I post is a “project” for me. I wish I could say I made all this amateur art with a simple wave my hand and only took about and hour and a half tops, but the many concept designs, thumbnails, abandoned ideas, and obvious frustration in my sketchbook prove otherwise.

To put it simply, the things I try to create are really hard for my noob artist self. Therefore, they have all been “projects”. And I simply didn’t realize what I got myself into when I started making a comic.

Potential huh?

I don't think you should be embarrassed to say that. It's common for artists to create artworks that might take a while but, it'll be worth it once their drawings are finished. I understand that you are trying to develop in order to become a good artist but, you shouldn't be too worried about your drawings. My dad always told me that "if you focus on one thing, then, you'll miss the big picture." Meaning, if you focus on one of your drawing/ projects then, you'll slow down the rest of your other ones. In which, will cause you to either lose interest in them or forget that they're there in the first place.

Nobody is perfect. So, don't force yourself to make every single drawing like they're some big high school exams.
(Plus, there could be mistakes that you might've missed but, people might see.)


Drawing "with a simple wave my hand and only took about an hour and a half tops" isn't easy for us artists to do (unless we're drawing a funny/silly drawing or sketch). Heh, I highly doubt anyone can draw a fully-detailed painting of an impatient person in like 5 seconds.   

I'm not that good at helping with people's struggles but, at least I'm trying my best to resolve their problems.

You’re right, perhaps I do put to much pressure on my self to make something great and take time to actually enjoy creating art. Your words of advice has really given me some perspective.

And don’t worry about helping me with my struggles. Just the fact that you are willing to listen and offer supportive words is more than enough. 😊
