Well, what we're doing for animation now is 2D and 3D. For 2Danimation, we are drawing characters by hand and repeatedly at that, then we also make their backgrounds and stuff.

For 3Danimation, we use a program caled Autodesk Maya to make 3D object. It's pretty cool and quite easy to use.

Unlike my other subject, CADVIS1, we use a program called Autocad to make drafts and 3D objects too. But ohmyglob I almost died, seriously it was so difficult to comprehend. I don't know about the others, but for me it was hell.

So uhm yeah, that's all I have for now. Maybe next week I'll have something to actually teach you lol.

My advice is, try the Autodesk Maya program if you want to try some 3D stuff. It is awesome! :3

So AB Animation will probably be my course (or is MMA good too?). I want to transfer because I've had it with my current Business course-- I think that I'll just live in frustration if I go on and graduate with it. lol sorry it's a long reply

Well for me, if you really want to concentrate on one specific field then Animation is a great choice. MMA is more uhm... varied or generalized kasi. As an MMA student, I get to have the privilege of getting knowledge and skills from different areas. It's a bit of everything. I'm a second year student now and so far I've been through sketching, painting, color rendering and a bunch of others (too many to fit into this comment lol). Right now I have photography, design conception, sound design, technical drawing, and desktop publishing subjects.

Hindi lang ako sure sa mga animation students ah, pero mma is really for those na dedicated and talagang pursidido. Seriously, I've heard some students shifting or dropping out due to stress. It's true, minsan parang sasabog na nga ako sa dami ng deadlines and projects that all need to be submitted. Sometimes, pag malas, same day lahat ng submissions nun. and varied media talaga, video presentation, scrapbook, powerpoint man yan etc.

But the important thing is to have fun and learn of course. Sa totoo lang, parang kuto lang ako compared sa mga magagaling na mga tao dito. Mga halimaw ang nandito haha. At syempre, dapat magpaturo-turo rin sa kanila ng mga techniques nila. Mababait naman sila eh. Basta sincere at eager to learn ka.

Ayun, sorry for the long rambling. Sana nagin helpful yung mga pinagsasabi ko. Good luck with your entrance exam! Kayang-kaya mo yan! Tell me when I can meet up with you at school some time when you get in. and if you already know all these nonsensical nonsense I've spouted, ignore the long explanations and just concentrate on this part lol.

Oh my, MMA does sound interesting... but I'm a bit laid back so I don't know if I can handle that much pressure (because I also have to adjust living in Manila) but then again, ABANI students may have a different kind of stress. I guess I still have some time to think about the best course to take...I think
I'm also scared of the new environment. Plus, I'll be a transferee... and I don't know where to belong to (by age, I'm already a 2nd year on the next school and since I'll be entering the third term, I'm neither a 1st year or a 2ndyear... I guess).
And sorry if I rarely (or never) speak Tagalog. Ironically, it's a 'foreign' language to me. I'm more adept in speaking my dialect and English. Which is another problem of mine... Awkward kasi ako mag Tagalog.

Haha. It's fine, actually there isn't a specific age group here. I'm a second year but I have friends who are 20+ years old (also 2nd years). I think another great point of this school is the diversity, you get to meet and interact with new people everyday. We have different people here, the cosplayers, goths, emos, normals, sosyals etc. I love them all. We don't have block sections, just during our first years and after that kanya-kanya na. You can also pick your own schedule, we call that encoding but it's a battefield I tell ya. But if you're a dean's lister or a scholar, you get the special privilege of encoding earlier than the others. And don't worry, you'll fit right in! Most people here speak English and are quite good at it.

Oh so there's that encoding thing at Benilde too. I thought I would finally escape that. I hate waiting in line Especially if it's battling over a schedule.
Ah... diversity. That's nice. My classmates always teased me that only sosyals are in La Salle (and that I might become one too. Hopefully not though. I'm just a simple person )
Btw is there a soccer field in Benilde? I like to play football and might try out for the team. It's one of the things that keep me healthy (I am a glutton you see, yet I have a thin frame )

Oh that's no problem at all... I don't mind. I was kinda busy this summer too. Yeah, soccer fields are much bigger but it really depends on the available space (as long as there's some room to run around ).. we have a field here too but it's prolly only 1/100th of the real football field size. I visited Taft the other day, just so I could be familiar with the place. Manila really is a tough place to live in... I'm so excited to transfer already but...uhm... Is the entrance exam THAT hard?

naaaaaaw! don't be afraid! It was actually quite breezy for me. (I skipped on some math and science questions) but I was still able to get in. \m/ You just have to get a fairly nice score on your uhm... I forgot what part of the test it was called, basta it was the one more on intuition? or aptitude? something like that.
