Just to let you know based off you fair and honest critique I have made an updated version of my piece 'Tomorrow's Touch #1'.
I would be grateful if you could find time to check it out, if not then no worries :) (Smile)
It can be found here: Tomorrow's Touch #1 (Version 2) All I could smell was the acrid smoke. And, all I could see was death all around us.
It was utter chaos. The random disorganized mass of people as they all struggled to flee or fight. Either way, both fell before the blades of attackers and defenders alike.
This wasn’t a war, it was a bloodbath.
Soldiers fought in every street and every alleyway. Their weapons a miss-match of long ornate swords and pitchforks. People fought with whatever they could lay their hands on.
Nonetheless, I ventured forward into the gloom. My path lit only by the light of the crackling fires. Fleeing would ensure my death, for it would leave my back unprotected. So, I had no choice to but to fight.
Or at least, that's what I told myself.
Occasionally, there was a brief moment of silence. Silence which I dreaded for that meant that yet more people were dying. Yet more people were leaving me to face this hell alone. Their bodies littered the ground all around me.
