Hi, is there still anything going on here?

Have you ever thought about adding ZCommunications ([link] ) to your link list?

If you donΒ΄t know it, take a look Michael Alberts work and Parecon are deserving a broader audience.

Well, no action within a month in the group, itΒ΄s good that you focus on the real world, however keeping a link to the virtual one alive wouldΒ΄ve been fine.

Wherever you are, keep on fighting!

Is this group still running?
I presume this is a club dedicated to anarchy in its broadest sense, rather than any particular strand. If this place is still running and condemns anarcho-capitalism, then I would very much like to join.

I am here to just plainly learn about diferent ideas o how humans should run their lives.
I heard from many but those who support anarchy. Can anyone of you fill me in?

Question:
What if you created a picture of the Anarchy symbol in your blood? Is that allowed for "submission?"
I've read the policy's but there wasn't anything there about blood. ><

I notice you say without rules, not without rulers. Most Anarchists believe in society without rulers, not necessarily without rules. I'm pretty sure most of us would opt not to allow murder or rape. We'd just have to organize to watch out for each other rather than pay some strangers to do it for us.

ps
Human nature as you mean it does not exist, its been pumped into the western culture by the myth of the "original sin". Human being's character is largely formed by his environment (both phisical and social).

What a lame club. You know, people die every day in anarchist states in places like Africa. It's not pretty, and it's not fun. My relatives in Scotland were nearly killed in Zimbabwe because the African leader there had ordered all the other Africans to kill all the white people. My cousins were innocent civilians, and they literally ran for their lives out of that place. Sorry, but anarchy doesn't work in real life. It's mostly just a dumb idea that 15-year-olds think is cool, and it has very little political merit. Sure, the glorious image in your head might look cool, but it's really not much more than that–a glorious image in your head. In a state of anarchy, not much gets done–mainly, people just do bad things for wrong reasons. I, personally, like my freedom just as much as I like my order, and I prefer to live in a society where I know I can be at least reasonably safe without having to carry a gun.

WeWantAnarchy In reply to NocturnalMelody [2006-10-04 22:59:56 +0000 UTC]

There are no anarchist states. In fact, Anarchy is against all forms of heirarchical control and that INCLUDES the state.

Anarchism is the name of a political philosophy or a group of doctrines and attitudes that are centered on rejection of government, or the state, as harmful and unnecessary and support its elimination.[1]The term "anarchism" is derived from the Greek αναρχία ("without archons" or "without rulers"). Thus "anarchism," in its most general meaning, is the belief that all forms of rulership are undesirable and should be abolished. The goal is to establish classless, stateless social organization, based upon common ownership of the means of production and the absence of any forms of private property.

Go read a book, you uneducated fool.

That's the problem, though. It doesn't work. What happened in Africa happened because the citizens rejected the government, and for a while, there was no leader, but it's human nature to need leadership, so their leader rose to power through need of direction. His word is very loosely interpreted, but the point is that anarchy eventually turns into just a state of chaos that goes in the general direction of what someone who lives in a castle says. And people still die.

"The goal is to establish classless, stateless social organization, based upon common ownership of the means of production and the absence of any forms of private property."

Sounds more like Marxism. Go read a book, you uneducated fool.

Bullshit. You know nothing of anarchy. You bought into the stupified mtv image of pop-punky anarchy for sale. Read some real anarchists; Bakunin, Kropotkin, Proudhon and Chomsky. You base you opinion of anarchy on a steriotipical misunderstending of it being "the laws of jungle."

It worked in Spain in 1936, it worked in pre WWI europe with Anarcho-Syndicalist unions, it worked in Paris commune (anarcho-communism), it worked in Italian factory occupations by Anarchists. But they all were crushed by either capitalists or authoritarian communists, they didn't fall apart because of the flaws in Anarchy.

"the African leader there had ordered all the other Africans to kill all the white people." these are your own words, you say that your relatives were almost killed by the African leader. I've never heard of and Anarchist revolution in Africa, it was probably just one dictator succeding the previous one, could you please specify the incident, when it actually happened.

Human nature is not that you can easily define. It is shaped by the society a person lives in. In other words human nature is bullshit, an excuse for the existence of government opression.

"Sounds more like Marxism." Marxism is but a branch of communism. And yes, it does sound like communism, in fact the goals of Anarchism and communism are the same, the means are different. Its understandable that you don't know anything about Anarchy (it was twisted by rich idiot kids in the past 50 years into just another meaningless fad), now you also show a poor understanding of communism, you are the one who is ignorant and pacified into obedience to your master. Seriously, read.

"It worked in Spain in 1936, it worked in pre WWI europe with Anarcho-Syndicalist unions, it worked in Paris commune (anarcho-communism), it worked in Italian factory occupations by Anarchists. But they all were crushed by either capitalists or authoritarian communists, they didn't fall apart because of the flaws in Anarchy." Yeah, communism worked in Spain, too, for about 5 minutes. Spain is an example for any political theory that's failed anywhere else. You speak of instances when countries and communities are confused and unstable, and aren't sure which direction they're heading in, which are generally conditions under which anarchist states arise. But that's just the thing–anarchy only ever arises when places are unsure, but when they're stable and secure and safe, are they anarchist anymore? No. Capitalism prevails because that's the direction the people want to head in. (I'm not saying capitalism is a perfect system–I think there's flaws in it–but I think it offers better opportunities than anarchy.) Communism happens because people feel helpless and they want a leader, so they appoint one and blindly follow their word, becoming power-hungry, and eventually communist.

"I've never heard of and Anarchist revolution in Africa" Where have you been? Revolutions, anarchy and instability have been practically the signature of Africa forever. My cousins escaped some years ago–I'm guessing from 16 to 20 years ago, but the situations in places like Zimbabwe, the Congo, and Uganda have not changed much over the years. Those places are all dangerous anarchist states, and they're all very dog-eat-dog.

(When I say "states", I don't mean states literally–just like, they're in that state, or they're anarchist places.)

"In other words human nature is bullshit, an excuse for the existence of government opression." Human nature is what you make of it. What I see in the world around me makes me think more every day that humans are much more than just mindless machines, which is what you suggest.

"Marxism is but a branch of communism." I don't know if you remember your history, but Marxism is the root of communism. Karl Marx started the whole idea. You say that the goals of anarchy and communism are much the same, and that just makes me dispise the idea more. Look at Russia, look at Serbia and the former Yugoslavia, look at any former members of the U.S.S.R.–communism only does harm to a community. The people hate it. They have no power, and the government controls everything. I believe Orwell put it best. Read him, for a change.
