Awesome, I go to St. Pete sometimes. :3 I love the beaches there! Yes, I survived the hurricane ok. I wrote a whole journal about it. It was actually pretty horrible... the hurricane itself was pretty neat, but we had to deal with a 3 year old brat who wouldn't stop screaming for about 10 hours. The eye of the hurricane went right over Winter Haven. This was my first hurricane ever. Hurricane Frances looks like it's going to be missing Florida... but ya never know. It could head NW or take the same path Charley did. How did you do during the hurricane? I know St. Pete and Tampa were really worried for awhile that it would hit there, good thing it didn't. My neighborhood was completely under water when we got home, and a lot of the homes near me lost their roofs and there walls were caved in. I just really hope Frances doesn't hit FL, I can wait a few years for another hurricane.

I'm glad you made it alright. Well, obviously you did ok since you're typing here, means that at least you have electricity... hehe. Ya know, actually we evactuated right smack dab into the middle of the hurricane (My uncle and family's house is in Lake Wales, 5 miles or so east of Winter Haven). To be "safe". Yeah right. So I can't help but think we brought it along with us.... sorry! =X Yeah, this was my first major hurricane too. Pretty intense in some parts. Looks like you guys got the worst of it though... we were really lucky. The house lost a bit of insolation and parts of the underside of the roofing, and my uncle's utility shed was ripped apart and blown across 5 acres into the neighbor's yard. o_o Few big oaks down too. But no major damage The power was out for a week, and no running water, too. We couldn't leave right away because the roads were closed... It was like an unplanned camping trip (even the planned ones are bad, lol) Thank God for A/C when we finally could get home. Funny thing is... we didn't even get any RAIN at my house... XP

Frances...? *shudders* I really should watch the news more often...

I'm glad to hear that no major damage was done to your Uncle's home. I hope they got everything fixed okay. I have some family in Lake Wales, it's a nice area. LOL... It's coincidental that people in St. Pete came inland to avoid the storm, then again, those things happen. The house I was staying at during the hurricane had some damage done. I was in the living room, looking out the window watching the eye pass over, when I saw the aluminum siding of the house peel off and fly away. It was crazy! That's really really good that your house had A/C. Winter Haven just got its power back last week. It took us 5 minutes to get to the house we stayed at during the 'cane, but it took us an hour and a half to get home. It didn't help that a tornado hit near my house. But when we got home, we had our power, A/C, television, phone... everything. My family and I shoulda just stayed home and watched a movie or something.

If Frances does hit, it will be later on this week. I don't think there is much to worry about though. Then again, anything with the name of "Frances" has to be bad news. *thinks about Frances Brown from high school.... *shudders*..*

Aiee, yes let's just hope it doesn't come our way... heck, if another hurricane comes, I'm stayin at home! Screw evacuation! >:0 Haha. We were watching Master and Commander when the power went off... and we still didn't get to watch the rest of it!
Tornados freak me out. o__o There weren't any at my uncle's, but I saw the evidence of some around the area.

Oohh, is Master and Commander any good? I was wanting to see it. I'm also just going to stay at my house if another hurricane hits. I live in a luxury golf resort and the houses here are mobile homes. I'm surprised at how sturdy they are. Tornadoes freak my out too. Whenever I hear "tornado warning", my stomach gets sick. I'm originally from Indiana, so I grew up with them. It's probably why I'm so afraid of them. I've seen them about 200 feet away from me heading towards me, very scary!

Oh eeesh I have dreams like that. O_O Though, I haven't actually seen a tornado, thank goodness. I've lived here all my life, and they seem to be a rarity. Good thing! Well, the first half of Master and Commander was pretty good.. I need to see the rest of it before I make my decision! Hehe. And sorry I'm taking up all your comment space..

I have a lot of things I've been worrying about lately, and so tornadoes show up when I'm dreaming. I think I'll have to rent that movie and check it out. :3 I hope you enjoy the other half!
