# About me
I love to take pictures. I tend to take pictures of clouds. I really enjoy coloring in my stress book, watching youtube videos, playing games on my computer and phone, and sometimes reading an actual book not one on a nook or something like it.I have something called epilepsy. It has something to do with the brain. I am still having seizures. I cannot drive until I am seizure free. I have yet to find anything to help control them. There is no cure for epilepsy. I sadly cannot go to concert or see movies in movie theaters. Nothing where I am sitting in the dark and there are flashing lights. I pray that there will one day be something to help not just me but everyone else suffering from epilepsy. November is epilepsy awareness month. Please help spread the word about epilepsy.

I really liked it. I don't see many things done for epilepsy. As someone who has epilepsy I am glad that people are slowly becoming more aware of it.

Sorry I would have answered sooner but I got the stomach flu and than right after that I had a seizure.
Every year I go to the walk for epilepsy here in my home state. It is coming up soon so I am excited about that. This is something the epilepsy foundation puts together every year in the spring.

yes you are right, and I don't expect I will ever be able to drive. I have tried everything including invasive brain surgery and I still can't get my seizures under control. on a more positive note, I hope you have a great purple day tomorrow

My doctors said that brain surgery wouldn't work for me. So I got a VNS. It is the one with the copper wiring. It helps with the bigger ones, although I will still loose control of my limbs from time to time.
It never really bothered me that I couldn't drive until I went to college.

my purple day was awesome
the hing that sucks with any kind on surgery though is the risk of infection. even if the risk is low, it can still happen. I am proof of that :/Β

You got an infection after your surgery?

yeah, unfortunately. infections are rare. you don't usually get infections in the hospital. if you get an infection it is usually from not taking care or your surgical wound. but unfortunately, I was one of the lucky ones. I had an intracranial eeg, then I had an temporal lobectomy. then sometime in between then, my head got infected with an serratia infection. so I had a 3rd surgery. then I went home. but THEN. my head got infected AGAIN (I guess the bacteria hid on the metal in my head) SO I went back in for a FORTH surgery to have my bone flaps removed permanently. 5 months later I had prosthetic bone flaps put in. and finally everything is ok. (I still have seizures but they are less severe and no more infections finally.)

That does sound like a lot of fun. Every time I think about getting a tattoo I think about what it would look like when I am older and all wrinkled. And if I why would want something so permanent on my skin.

Thank you! I'm the only one out of all four of my mothers children that doesn't have a tattoo. Last year I considered getting one that represents epilepsy to me. Some birds with a purple ribbon.

it is a purple ribbon behind my ear (it is on the same side of my head where the seizure activity is, so it is somewhat symbolic)

I did. My older sister really wanted to win the team t-shirt contest but unfortunately she didn't. They loved the saying. I think the people that won had glitter on their shirts. Oh well, it was fun even though the shirt didn't win.
