i use my d300 as my primary at sporting events, with my longer lenses. its a great camera. id suggest the battery grip tho especially if your going to be shooting action

I need a bunch of filters and such as well. Along with good lens hoods and camera bags. I might get a gear belt and a vest too.

leave room for anything that you might forget. you dont want to spend all your money and then need some vital thing and be screwed
