I passed!
Then I learned that my teachers were rather lenient with grading, hence why I passed. Kind of depressing. My math teacher didn't, so I got a D but yeah.
I'm in tenth grade. Woot.
We totally need to go do something I have no life right now and if I have to spend much longer cooped up with my mother I might murder her I mean aaaaaagh

Being fourteen is weird. I feel old. What's odd is that people call it your fourteenth birthday, but the fourteenth year of your life is already over.
What day does school start, again? I keep checking and then forgetting. I'm so nervous about my classes– all my deadline things are screwed up, so I don't know if I can even hand in term 4 of English.
I went to my grandmother's house and listened to her friend rant about the government giving teens antidepressents to make them go shoot people so the government can ban guns (yes, half his trailer is filled with guns. yes, they're all loaded. :iconghahplz:
And after that I went to my other grandmother and spent a day with the non-schizophrenic side of my family, and I talked about 1984 and Brave New World and they what I was talking about.

Anyway. I'm gonna post this from the thing I told Ashley because it's big and I'm lazy.
So you know the grandfather paradox, right? Really this could be any paradox, but let's use that one. You travel back in time, kill your grandfather, never get born, and therefore can't travel back in time to kill your grandfather, so you are born, so you can travel back in time etc.

But that assumes that time is one-dimensional – not even. One dimension would be a line ( <---> ) , but we usually see it as a ray ( .---> ). And that's impossible, because that would cause time travel paradoxes like the one up there.

I'm guessing that if you make a paradox, the causalty involved won't make sense. But that doesn't matter, it doesn't have to make sense on the normal path. If you can break cause and effect, the universe won't implode or or split into alternate universes or fix itself or anything. It'll just be a break in causalty, and it'll seem like you exist from nothing. You live, but grandpa has no part in your birth. Why would it matter?

Time travel would completely screw over any idea of time being an unbroken line. If anything, I'd guess it might even be two-dimensional. So a paradox would be like making a hole in a tablecloth, sort of.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how much sense I'm making. My family has rather minimal interest in metaphysical things like this, so I haven't bothered asking them.

Also, there is not really a way to source Wikipedia without looking like the paper was written overnight. Even if it took a month. And the article is really well-sourced. Aaaagh.
