I watched ye. My own silkies are just plain retarded, now they have the tendency to peck and walk around with a wild chicken we nicknamed Stow, because when we moved to a the house we're in now, she was sitting in a boat on rotting eggs...poor thing, we took the eggs,and called her Stow.
She's fine now, stealing breads, and pecks with our chickens, and even braves us.
I used to have a chicken no bigger than the palm of your hand, and she was smarter than the average bird, she flew up to your hand if you had food, ran to you when you made a squeaky noise, and sat in your lap when you held her....but she was eaten by a dog...and a shame that was...because people don't seem to take care of their animals, and keep them in their own yard.

FFFF Don't get me started on neighbors' dogs. They've pushed me beyond reasoning, I'm now on "shoot to kill mode." I've given them adequate warning, and now they know I'm serious when they saw me aiming at their dog with a shotgun... blasted thing got away. No problems since then, at least. But I'm so sorry bout your birdy! That really really sucks. It is a shame indeed. I had an Old English pullet with a lethal dwarf gene that, full grown, including wings, legs, and neck, was smaller than my hand. She eventually succumbed to her fate though, as her joints deteriorated and she became unable to walk. She was a sweety, but it was inevitable.

(and this amazing rooster was pecking around with our adopted wild hen 'stow'! I hope she gets fertilized, I've been wanting chicks for a while now...she's not a silky, but a mud breed-Rhoded Island Reds, laying hens...whatever else is swimming in her...I love to care for chicks. :3

They are interesting creatures! All but 9 of mine are bantams, Old English and Modern Games. I breed and show mine. I've got an army of chicks right now.
