I may not be able to provide any program-specific tips, but I can offer some general tips that apply to all 3d modeling programs.
The first and probably most obviously is to learn the shortcuts as quickly as you can. You don't have to learn them all, but knowing the main ones (especially camera/view port navigation, how to select and move different components, duplicate, and any tools that let you wield vertices or add them or edges ). Being able to work quickly and be familiar with the program helps you learn faster. Another good reason for knowing the program is that you should be able to read tutorials from other programs, and will know how to apply the lesson of the tutorial into 3dsmax (it makes searching for tutorials a lot easier as you aren't so limited).
The second thing (equally as important), would be wireframes. Find and study them (spend hours just looking at wireframes if you need to) wherever you can, and be sure to post your own so that people can actually see how the model was built. One important thing to look for are edge-loops: the way the edges flow with the muscle groups. Imagine if a piece of paper could only fold where there is a crease – that is pretty much the importance of edges when it comes to creating a model that can be animated. If there's no edges for the elbow, the arm just isn't going to bend. A body is designed to move, so it is really important to understand that. So study how a modeler builds the muscles groups when looking at their mesh. An artist might not post a tutorial, but if they post their wireframes then you still have a good chance to learn from them (really tutorials are just going to say the same thing over an over, so once you've used them enough to know the basics, studying other models and making your own really becomes the best way to learn. A high-poly model may be harder as there are more edges to look at, so low-poly models are great for getting an idea of which edges are crucial. They're also great because you get a better idea of how important it is to know the shape of what you're modeling, working low-polyforces sort of forces you to appreciate this.
I found some great tutorials for starting out at:

Thank you so much for all your help!
those tutorial sites might come in handy aswell!
about the low poly modeling, i find it hard to do so, because i like smoothing everything till i get what i want
that creepy head of mine is about 13000 polygons so u can imagine how much i like smoothing
I know most shortcuts wich u mentioned and they cut down a lot of time
and yes wireframes are important i should make some renders of mine will do that tomorrow!
im playing around for about a month now and i enjoy it a lot i ust need to learn a lot more then what i know right now
again i thank you for your help!

I know what you mean, I used to be a big fan of smoothing/subdividing (the world is a cube, subdivided 3 times), but had to break away from that habit as I'm aiming more for the video game industry where things like polygon budgets exist. Now I actually find it easier to begin a model by changing the polygon's discontinuity (I believe 3dsmax uses the term smoothing groups for this?) to create a severly fauceted/hardedged look. It makes it easier to understand the general form of the object being modeled, and then once I have the shape I want I can turn the discontinuity angle back up to around 60 degrees, and subdivide if I need to.

Cool i will learn those things and indeed in gaming industry u have polygon budgets,
I also watch my polygons depending how close i want my model to be for a close up i use a lot more then when its far because the details wont matter
