My dad's been saying that we'll get one when our really old printer dies. And the stupid thing is still going strong. I really hope to get one soon, though. I have so much traditional work that no one has really seen. ANGST.
How has life been for you? :3

I hope you get one soon then!
It's been really busy actually. I was sick for half the week last week, and so in return, I had to do a make-up oral test and another test, a bunch of quizzes, a project, etc. and I had a camp this weekend.
Ugh, third quarter is always the worst. I literally have three projects this week and it's the least busy week I've had so far.
other than that though, this week's been pretty good c: how's school for you? O:

That's a lot of work to do o_o
School's been okay. It's really starting to speed up with Confirmation and Graduation coming up... Sometimes, though, I get really annoyed with the way my Religion teacher treats me. I was out for a week with a virus, and, when I came back, he yelled at me for not having my work saying how I was bragging about how much I had gotten done. (Which I never did.)
And then today when I showed him the first two sections of my Confirmation packet (signed by my sponsor, too) he said that my brother's signature was not his, pretty much telling me that I forged it. It isn't my fault his handwriting is freakishly girly... *angrily headdesks* D:<

D: that sucks, you should've gotten an extension. (even though I didn't xD)
I had to redo a mandarin test because I was sick, and I retested on it twice. Once because I didn't know of it, and the other because she was sick and I didn't know what to do. The oral, sentence making, reading and listening I think I did average on. I'm not sure really. The part I'm scared of is the vocab and memorization. I forgot like 5 words and that's actually quite a bit. I remember how it looked like, or like 1 out of 4 of the words in the...what's it called... no idea what it is in english. It's like a term explained with four words (like an idiom) and I only remembered the first two. Ugh.
That's silly. You should go look for him after school and talk to him about it, claim that it's just a misunderstanding and be respectful. I had a teacher who gave participation grades by random :/ and my overall grade dropped from a 97 to a 92 because he gave me a C+ on it. I asked him and he was all like: oh be more consistent. I WAS CONSISTENT.
He's a good teacher, and I love how he teaches; and history is epic anyway. He's more about the causes, the reasons, the psychological and philosophical side of it, instead of just memorizing dates and happenings, our history class is more about the cause and effect on how history affects modern day, etc.
it's just the participation grade I dislike :/ I participate alot, but I still get a low grade for it, and it's annoying.

Argh. That is annoying.
How is Mandarin, anyway? Even though I'm taking Spanish now (and rocking at it, I must add), I've requested my language course for high school to be Mandarin. It catches my interest, since I have no idea what any of it says. So I have no idea what to expect next year...
...but I am thinking of creating a character specifically for my Mandarin class. xD He/she will be doodled on my notes to help me remember things... or so I have planned

LOL for mandarin, I suggest you have a very good memory. You should learn the basics first I guess, like the radicals, the meanings and simple words, etc. like food names and daily language. It's much more useful. The words are pretty cool sometimes. Like everything is connected. For example, the word ζ¨ mu means wood. You put two of them together and you get ζ which means forest. There are a bunch of other stuff like that, so learning the radicals (the side symbols) are kind of important, because there are alot of words really alike, for example ζ ε§ ε·΄ ηΈ all look somewhat alike, but they all have different meanings, and the differences tell what it's mainly about, etc. Wierd language we have.
I have no idea about the character thing though, it seems cool c: I usually just doodle on my mandarin and make fun of *xJEWELx ;D teehee!
I hope you succeed in memorizing all the words. After learning about the really basic stuff, it's just memorize memorize memorize. Most people here don't bother with the theory and crap behind chinese, we just memorize lmao. We the sad people...

Huh. Learning is something I really enjoy, so I'm pretty excited because I've heard it's a hard language to learn.
I hope I do okay, as well. xD High school's gonna be a huge change.
...have you read Game of Thrones? c:

I love learning things I'm interested in. Like history. and english. and psychology. and art. and occasionally biology.
I think my favorite classes would have to be history and art though. Mod Euro (modern european history) is so interesting! Art is just my relaxation block where I get to make a mess out of watercolor and acrylic and try to fix it after a while. Yeah. It's fun, but there's so much expectation.
Seriously, the people at my school are so talented it's scary. Our teacher saved a copy of the really good artwork as examples, and so the project we're doing right now is just trying textures of acrylic. So we have like 20 boxes on a canvas board and we're supposed to try textures right? Most of us just end up putting two colors there, add texture, done.
The thing is, the example was so freaking good. Someone who graduated in 2007 painted a LANDSCAPE of the ocean, some trees, and the moon, using that 4x5 boxes layout, and it looks exactly like a photo. It was done in TWO colors. Oh my gosh.
I seriously wanted to cry and drop painting 1 when I saw it. Actually no, I wanted to cry when my friend, Julian
(who is literally a child prodigy 3 in my class, as there is Sarena who can paint with watercolor exactly like a photo on her first try with any types of paint, and Emily who's an talented in everything (amazing dancer, singer, painter, as in the complete alikeness with the photograph kind and super smart as well.) and a bunch of other talented people in my class)
asked him whether someone in AP art or advanced art did it. He was like: oh no, that person painted this in painting one, as in all the inexperienced painters who are trying stuff for the first time. There are other people who've done huge landscapes with just pen, or people who have painted shells with an exact likeness even though they're the pearly kind, and ugh.
My school is way too talented and WAY too smart. Seriously, our average GPA is what, a 3.5? but everyone expects you to get a 3.7 or above anyway. People who've graduated have said that college was easier than our school.
One thing I have to say; for high school, you have to work hard, but don't overwork yourself like everyone in my grade who has slept at 1 in the morning every night for the last 3 months. It's not good for you, you'll get high fevers and sleep in class, then fall behind even more... yeah. Just enjoy it, because no one EVER says: oh I wish I took that extra course, or I wish I studied till one for that test. Nope. They go: oh I wish I actually did something I enjoyed.
Yeah. Only suggestion there. Don't overwork like me. (:
no I haven't D: what's it about?

I find it hard to explain. It's set back in the time period with kings, lords, knights, etc. It took me a bit to really get into it, though. There's a lot of characters thrown at you at once, and they switch perspectives every chapter. (And not just between two or three characters. There's a good few.)
But now that I'm into it, I love it! It can be a bit... inappropriate at times.

Last year I woke up and I had no idea what was going on. I called my mom in this delirious state and scared the crap out of her. She had to come home to make sure I was okay.

Ugh, last year I used to eat so much at lunch, and nowadays I only eat lunch like 2-3 times a week and just eat a lot of snacks, or an apple or something. It's unhealthy and I'm not trying to lose weight or anything (as if I needed to, I'm fine with my body even if it's not perfect luls) but I just don't have the time or money to eat too much anymore :C

LULS you should see us after school (though not as much due to softball season)
So we have a tuck shop that sells snacks on the second floor, but our lounge is on the fifth floor. There's a park n shop (supermarket) right around the corner from our school.
So basically, when we all want food, we do a rock paper scissors (or someone volunteers) to see who goes to park n shop or to the tuck shop, and we all give them money and if there is like, change, usually the person gets to keep it and buy something for themselves.
If not, there's literally a kid in my grade who uses a hundred or two to buy snacks and stuffs it in his locker, like a huge bag of food. So he'd open a bag of chips and we pass it around until it's gone, which usually takes less than 5 minutes.
He calls us peasants LULS. Our grade greets each other like: HELLO PEASANTS. all the time though xD

HAHAHHAAHAHAH I KNOW RIGHT. 900 dallars for me to fail on. FUN.
Well then again, people say that it's impossible for people in our school to fail the AP exam, because most of use are asian anyway and we know the basics, and the exam is for people learning it as a foreign language, not as a mother tongue like most people are. LULS.

π: 0 β©: 1
xSurreal In reply to Xaiverlle2106 [2012-04-02 10:04:56 +0000 UTC]
haha I still have the style issue. I can't find a consistent style for anything :/ Only when I sketch, I can, but the rest = either I don't like it, or it's not consistent.
I really want a more realistic human style, but I can't seem to find one at all.
π: 0 β©: 1
Xaiverlle2106 In reply to xSurreal [2012-04-02 22:23:39 +0000 UTC]
That's almost exactly what I'm going through. I've always desired a more realistic human style, but it seems now I like it more cartoony. But I always have this problem with facial features, whether it be the jaw, the eyes, the mouth, or the nose. It always seems to be one of those that's giving me the problem.
π: 0 β©: 1
xSurreal In reply to Xaiverlle2106 [2012-04-03 05:43:21 +0000 UTC]
Ugh I know right. To be honest, I really hate drawing people, because there's so much to worry about, like anatomy, face, etc. and people actually care about that, while on the other hand, cats and dogs are so easy to stylize and still make it look alright :C
