I like to think of my hope as a single lit candle sitting in the middle of a large field during a rain storm. It should have gone out long ago, but for some reason it just keeps burning. Maybe it's just stubborn.

I think I'm in a lull myself regarding hope, but I'm hanging in there. Talking to you and others I've met on DA really helps me. I am at a point in my life where I have no real-life friends so it's a little hard on me, I don't do so well without connections or contact. I mean sure there are times when I like to be alone with my thoughts and creativity, but this is....overkill.


But anyway your words and hope remain a metaphorical light for me...it is good to see someone keeping the flame burning. I'm trying to regain my faith in others. Trust once more.

Yeah, I could never really stand crowds. I've been getting a lot better about it, but pretty much just give me one, maybe two other people and that's about my max comfort level.

There was a time in my life where (to deal with insomnia caused by depression) I made myself turn nocturnal and the only friends that I had were online(nothing wrong with that). While it really helped develop me intellectually (when I started my wpm was like 16 and my spelling was... I don't wanna talk about it. Haha.) I lacked real human interaction. It was really easy for me to drive myself crazy.

I use to think that it was as easy as just going out and finding friends and 'I was a loser that sucked at it' and that's why I didn't have any friends. I've found though that it's more making yourself available for them to come to you, then to actively seek them.

In my opinion it is the curse of the creative person, (the person who asks questions, the person who wants answers, and the person who isn't afraid of the truth) to drive anyone crazy if they spend an extended amount of time around that one person in particular. Everyone needs space, balance in all things.

Don't trust other people. Trust yourself that others trust you, the rest will just fall into place.

Crowds....mmm, a love hate relationship for me; I too prefer just one or two people at a time, it makes for more intimate conversations.

Right now I find myself alone much of the time and those online relationships are all I have for the moment and it helps because I think I need that social stimulus in order to not be consumed by my thoughts.

Hmm, you say making yourself available? like approachable? friendly?

Oh yes, space......spaceeeeeeee

Yeah, keep a close eye on me. I can be a clever little bastard at times. Though most of the time I don't even understand what the hell I'm saying. >_>

No so much friendly, because if you show yourself as too open and excepting that other people might see that as an opportunity to just walk all over you. It's more that you have to intrigue people enough that they are interested in you, you can't come off as too intimidating or they won't approach you, but you also need to not seem desperate for attention (even if that's how you feel). There is something to be said about a touch of mystery.

The corporate agenda is to streamline everything and make everyone look, think, talk, speak, and buy exactly the same. Don't be a sheep. You are an individual, and you have your own personality. Stand out from the crowd.

As I get older I am trying to integrate many parts of myself to create a certain image but with a stability in mind so that I am not always struggling internally.

Thanks, but it's not till the 10th. Though I figure that you'll still be on the road. Good luck on your trip and remember to take some time to do something fun. It might not be the most practical, and you might get to where you are going a little late. But it is the little things in this life that truly matter. Trust your mind, but follow your heart.
