Oh wow, thanks!  i share your love of Felix so much, and I could see it instantly when your latest submission turned up in the feed!  I love when I stumble across masters of the trade, and your work is just fantastic!  I would have FAVed them all, but...that would have probably looked a bit obsessive and maybe creepy.  I hope you don't mind if I go through and savor each one, a little at a time!    I hate that you got ripped off.  It's just so easy to do, and for all the ranting and raving here and on (dare I mention it) tumblr, nothing short of a lawyer will really make them stop.  So many places do it, and the most evil among them make small alterations so that even if you DID try to sue them, they could claim it was changed enough to Not Be The Same....It's just horrible how artists get screwed over.

Glad to meet a fellow Felix lover ! He's really my favorite character ever, I couldn't get tired of his silent cartoons. No worries about faving or not, watching is good enough, I act exactly the same way. The rip-off have been an exhausting story for the last two weeks but it seems that hopefully, I may have my drawings restored in the end. I'll be more careful and I'll upload smaller pictures ! And it won't stop me to draw and post my artwork ! Thanks again. By the way, your english is great (better than mine !)

Hahah, don't worry about the English - I'm an expat only living in Japan, and English is my native language.  I never would have thought by your writing that you were not a native speaker, to be honest!

Continuing on the Felix tip - are you a fan of Oscar Grillo at all?  When I was little and just thinking about getting into animation, I came across this video and it just blew my mind.  Have you ever seen this?: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iYdEZ…  I always love how a completely ink black character forces the artist to focus entirely on dead on perfect silhouette for a clear read.  I think we admire that about Felix, too, don't we?

Ha, you're too kind ! I'm not too bad to write english (although I sometimes have to verify what a word means) but I'm awful when I have to speak it, like paralyzed. It's only when I'm drunk that I succeed to say a few words ! I guess I should live in a english-speaking country for a while to be more confident.

Yes, I like Oscar Grillo's stuff a lot ! I added him to my Facebook just to see his sketches (he's posting new ones almost everyday www.facebook.com/oscar.grillo.… ) and it's always a delight. I like how he's mixing golden age references with his "arty" style, it's something that's working really well. But I wasn't aware about this video, so thank you for that ! Yes it's quite gratifying to have a fully black character and to try to make its attitude perfectly clear. Most artists would add white outlines on the black body but with classic Felix, never ! He even had some sharp corners in the first few years. I think Messmer once said that he was inspired by paper cuttings like the ones children used to play with. (Tip - I removed the word "Felix" from every picture in my gallery because I don't want to help the thief to find those too easily to make false claims - but if you look for the name of Felix's creator my drawings are still around )

Ohhh trust me, I'm like that about Japanese.    I'm comfortable enough reading and writing it to a degree, but lock up when I have to have anything in the way of personal conversation.  It's another thing to just be making small talk while shopping and asking about products and services, but other kinds of in-depth conversations leave me fumbling for the right words and worrying about grammar - and then the moment is gone!  >_<;;;

Also, drunk English is great!  If I got drunk more often, I would probably become more comfortable speaking Japanese!  Whatever it takes to get the words from your brain to your mouth, you know?  XD
