Aaah I do want my message centre under control >_< I have a good dozen finished pieces to upload, but am afraid to T_T last time this happened I uploaded things to scraps instead so no one would comment XD bahaha.

I can't believe the cosplay thing o_O doesn't Singapore have some really amazing cosplayers? I was so disappointed that the Singapore Cosplay Club never made it to AVcon T_T

Oh and I was recently talking with a someone I met at a cosplay con last December. He (as well as everyone else I talk to) is in awe of what you do as a cosplayer!

Oh and belive the cosplay thang! Yes, there are fantastic cosplayers here in Singapore. Interestingly, most of the crap ones would be considered half-decent in Australia (as in, the quality of the costumes is pretty well-made)...

Now, I know some pretty good cosplayers and they are all suitably impressed with your "record" @ Manifest, so that's why I say you're a "...downright kickass cosplayer (who wows great cosplayers here in Singapore)..."

But as to the group that missed out on AVCon, I might know of them. Just a little interesting factoid..... The thing is here in Singapore, the vast majority of *GREAT* cosplayers have their costumes *ENTIRELY* tailored. Stuff that would get you disqualified as a cosplayer in Australia or at least Manifest... And the cosplay is interestingly similar to the format described in Japan, where cosplayers gather *OUTSIDE* the venue for photos, then proceed inside for judging.....

Wow o_O I can't imagine wearing a costume I hadn't made myself o.o but I suppose the focus is slightly different in singapore (and japan)... where being a leading cosplayer is more about modelling and acting, rather than dorky hobbying and sewing XD well I'm Australia has a slightly different focus... because if I had to rely on my looks to do well in cosplay I wouldn't stand a chance XD bahahaa.

I can't really comment on the focus of cosplay here in Singapore (as I haven't been here long enough) or in Japan (as I haven't even *BEEN* there!), but what I can say is the fact tht tailored costumes tend to do really well...

For example, the winning cosplayers were 2 sisters crossplaying Yazoo & Kadaj from Final Fantasy Advent Children, with incredibly well-made tailored costumes. Their weapon props were, however, another story...

Now, contrast this with another pair of crossplayers that had downright jaw-dropping, elaborately-tailored costumes (think Royal Wedding Couple), who didn't win, but were highly placed. But that's not to say tailored costumes always win. I know some people that have won with "dorky hobbying and sewing"...

Honourable mention (he won a wireless keyboard and somethang else...) went to a mecha-cosplayer, incredibly well-made, obviously home-brewed, but fragile... He tripped and wrecked 1 of the mecha's legs.....

The thing is, *EVERYONE* votes for your cosplay and you get called up onstage if you've racked up enough votes. Thing is, people can only vote a set number of times..... but as far as cosplay portrayals and ostuming goes, believe me when I say that you and Asham would *ROCK!!!*

I mean, Asham does better Ash/Satoshi cosplay tan most guys!

I normally reside in Melbourne, but I'm forced to be here in this hellhole they call Singapore. Maybe not so bad, but I *REALLY HATE* the weather and... Oh. I better not say what else I hate about it here... But I'll be back in The Merry Land of OZ soon, within a couple of years or so, this time *PERMANANTLY* or at very least long-term.....

Most people around the world would consider The Gold Coast as a great place in OZ to live... Interesting.....

But then again, most Australians say Singapore is a fantastic place, I guess you gotta live there to know what you like!

Oh I'm stuck here in Singapore because of some loophole Government obligations. I have to serve in the Singapore Armed Forces just because my Dad is a citizen here...
