Sweet deal! My name is Bobby and I'll be a sophomore in the fall, and if you provide me with some sort of identification I can find you and make your stay less lonesome like my first quarter was! I lived off-campus, though, putting a dapper on my social life.

I'm really shy, so I was a bit worried I'd have a hard time meeting people... So I appreciate this a lot! Thank you.
I'll send you a note or something once it gets closer to September, so you know what I look like and maybe we can meet up somewhere. (I'm living in Colorado right now but I'll probably move out to Georgia near the end of August...)
Is it cheaper living off-campus? I'm going to be in the dorms my first year, but I think after that, I'd like to live somewhere off campus because I think some of the stuff in the housing agreement is a bit silly.

No problem! I love meeting new people and I really hated my first quarter because I didn't know anyone.
From what I experienced, it's cheaper off-campus, but if you're reliant on a scholarship, get used to dorming. A lot of my senior friends stayed in the apartment-style housing because if they didn't, they'd lose their scholarship and... yeah. I wanna live off-campus some time too, mostly because I wouldn't have to worry about scrambling to get everything packed and stored away during summer and the FINES they like to stack on at the end of the year. By the way, before finals hit in Spring... start your cleaning. I'm keeping note of this for future reference because OH MY GOD I screwed up horribly for finals. D,:

You have to live in the dorms to get scholarships from SCAD? I didn't know that... Thanks for the heads up about cleaning. I probably would have waited until the last minute to get it done. Well, I still might, but I'll try not to! Haha.
Do you know how strict they are about having visitors at the dorms? Do they actually enforce all the stuff in the housing agreement (like the longest someone can stay is 3 days and if they aren't the same sex, you have to find someone else to hots them, etc.) or does no one really care?

Well, the dorm rules are enforced by the RAs. Someone not from the school would have to sign in with the security and stuff, as far as I remember. As far as people staying in the dorms of the opposite sex, it really doesn't matter- spending nights, though, as before mentioned would depend on the RAs. My RA really didn't care I guess, since both of my roommates (in Turner you have three people per room) always had their girlfriends sleeping over. My favorite RA and close friend is also very chill about that-- he's going to be over in Dyson in the fall. And during HvZ (Humans Vs. Zombies, also run by this same RA), I stayed in Boundary which is for upper classmen, in the apartment of an opposite-sex friend(along with a bunch of others in our brigade). And I know many people over in the apartment-style housing love to spend nights with their significant others. Do you know where you're staying?

Oh, okay. My housing and roommate assignments were up online before, but they aren't anymore so I'm not sure where I'm staying now. I was going to be living in the Abercorn Terrace before though.

Aw man. I was gonna be in the Terrace until the called me up and were like, "HAY GUIZE WANNA LIVE IN WESTON?"
The Terrace is an apartment style if you didn't know beforehand.

Really? Although, I'm not entirely sure that's where I'm going to be living because it's not up on MySCAD anymore... I think I'm not supposed to get my housing assignment until August anyway.

So I have connections in all the dorms right now, and something great about the Terrace (if you end up there) is that it's right next to Montgomery Hall. For most people, that place is a bitch to get to. It's one of the few 24-hour buildings, and from head to foot it's covered in amazing computers meant to take a whooping from all the game and animation rendering. And they have SOOOOOO MANY CINTIQS. And the cafeteria there is by far the best, featuring a new favorite of mine: Einstein Bros. Bagels.
