i wrote a bit (in a crappy way) in one of my journals (just look at the robot master permission journal)
it's not really for me, i plan to do something for the megaman franchise a for the people that like it

I read the journal and I appreciate your work.
I am doing the same thing, but I started from making a new story with new hero.
This hero would connect Rockman series and RockmanX series, and give another reason that stories continues after X5 endings.
In this case and consideration of my spriting ability, I decided to plot it on 8-bit style.
Repliloids sprties in X series should be remade and rearranged, including heroes, villains and enemies.
However, I found it was hard for me to remake X series in 8-bit style.

that's a pretty good idea o3o i'm planning on adding X's stuff too, kinda like bonus >3>
the sprites i'll use are taken from megaman xtreme, just recolored and retouched to feel more natural with the rest
Your mention to x5 ending made me remember megaman zero series, doood that's awsome

I think X series had a best ending in X5.
I had asked myself one question that if there is a story that Rockman and Rockman X could show up in the same game, how would they look like in this game?
Then I chose Rockman 8-bit style, because I love this style.
However, I don't know how to plot background, environment object and misc such as weapon-get or title show.
I need more practices.

well, i do it on paper first, random doodles and stuff, only when i get something nice i start to think on how it would look like in the game, and only then i start with the pixels (and most of it still gets changed) o3o

for charater sprites this technique is good (and 99% sure was used officially) to make higher resolution sprites, like the ones from fighthing games (like street fighter)
irwt.iammanyninjas.com/images/… they draw the basic character lineart, and go through a process to make it into a pixel thingie (what i do is scan it, go to a software, like the superpixeltime website wich converts images to pixels, and fix it onto a image editor)
obviously this don't work with 8bit stuff, they are too small, but you can still draw the sprites to get the idea first, like so: sta.sh/012h4qli6swz

wow I see now.
I found that some details had to be ignored in order to avoid the clearness and visibility on screen.
I remember a thing that  Inafune said a character will easily be noticed if his silhouette is clear and appealing.

just keep the awsome datailed stuff for the art, keep the sprites as simple as you can o3o
also, train your hand to do lines, like, grab a picture on the web and go around the contours with the mouse o3o i used to do that
