Can I just say I just finished reading it. What a WONDERFUL masterpiece. I loved the moments, you managed to blend BOTH aspects of them and made the best of both shows. Heartrending, Heartwarming and funny all in one. What surprised me is how the characters ended up being developed and becoming better people. Eddy's Brother surprised me the most as he went from a jerk to a jerk with a heart of gold. IF this was a real game, I would GLADLY buy it. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and projects.

Thank you, man! It was really kind of you to seek me out just to tell me that, and I'm glad that you like the story. One of my favorite tropes is probably seeing total jerks slowly turn into nicer people, and they can be especially interesting when they still retain their jerkish personality but try to be nice anyway.

Same, I always find that jerks can become better people, if steered the right direction. This is one of the few fics that ACTUALLY made me genuinely laughed and cried. It was especially sad about Helmey (Don't want to spoilΒ it for those who haven't read it yet) and the ending......Oh it just melts my heart.

What makes people so interested in FNAF? I have some friends who love it but when I asked them that they just said because they do.

The game has a variety of things people are interested in. I certainly can't speak for everyone, of course, but here are some things that I'm pretty sure grabbed most people.
When the game was first released, the idea that you couldn't move and had to passively waitΒ for danger to come to you (and that you could only stop it when it was right about to get you) was a new and--to most people--refreshingly tense and scary take on horror games. My first exposure to the game was watching Markiplier play it, and it was so stressful just WATCHING that I had to pause the video several times just to catch my breath. The intentionally off-putting CGI mixed with the creepy design of the animatronics makes for some very unsettling images as you watch them shamble about the building. Of course the game has jumpscares, and while many people say they're overused and cheap for horror, I personally think they're alright in FNaF simply because they only happen when you lose. You know they're coming, but you don't know when, but you can also prevent them with patience and luck.
After that, there's the lore aspect. In the first game, when you checked certain cameras, very rarely you'd notice that certain details would be different from normal. One hallway has children's drawings hung up on the far wall, but sometimes they are replaced newspaper clippings detailing a series of murders that happened at the restaurant in the past. Lots of things like that give hints as to why the animatronics are seemingly coming to life and dangerous. The further games expanded upon this immensely, giving very cryptic hints and pieces of a story behind the franchise you're working for as a whole and, again, why the animatronics are haunted. The entire thing still hasn't been solved according to the creator, who insists that throughout all four games he gave enough pieces to put everything together, so there's a compelling mystery that draws people in.
And finally, we have novelty of the game's monsters, the animatroncis themselves. We've never really pizzaria animatronics as horror villains before--at least not as the main focus of the story, I'm sure. The animatronics are interestingly and uniquely designed. Lots of people--furries especially--drew and designed animatronics of their own, whether they be original characters or converting existing characters into one. Eventually things such as fan models for the characters in the games appeared for Garry's Mod and Source Filmmaker, and people used them for all kinds of videos.Β For certain kinds of people *coughmecough*, the animatronics' designs grow in appeal over time, and you start seeing them as lovable characters that you can give interesting personalities to.Β There's also something inherently funny about seeingΒ something that is normally creepy and horrific doing something silly.
I started making FNaF videos when I saw the Foxy model posted for the Source Filmmaker workshop and had recently watched Futurama. The idea of watching Foxy do the hustle like Fry did popped into my head, and I opened up the program to see if I could figure out how to do that. The video became a hit and I decided it'd be fun to practice animation using the FNaF models, and here I am now.
I wouldn't say I'm as big of an FNaF fan now as I was last year--the lack of new videos since Pyro's Night at Freddy's is a testament to that--and while I don't really play the games myself I still have fond memories of the fandom (the better parts of it, of course). People drew comics, wrote stories and made entertaining videos, and it was fun to be a part of something that was really popular. I also owe the creator of the game a huge thanks, as making those videos taught me the basics of animating in 3D, which I probably wouldn't have bothered to do if nobody watched my videos and encouraged me to make more. Now I'm going to college to pursue a career in modeling and animation, so whatever people think about the games, I'm just thankful to them for inspiring me.
So yeah, that's why I think people like Five Nights at Freddy's.

Wow that's a lot of information. I suppose that makes more sense now, the reason I was confused is because I can't stand the idea of having screamers pooping up on me constantly. I'm terrified of them. So yeah. Also congrats on heading to college! You'll have to post updates on your work for us all to see!

Hi there! I found your gallery when I tried to look for a drawing of the FNAF1 group in the style of Don Bluth animations. You have really neat animations and SFM stuff. You've got yourself another watcher!
