Well, like I said in one of my descriptions, I got my assets from here:

I open up the sprite sheets in GIMP, then put them together piece by piece. For non-mounted units, here's a template:

Depending on hair and clothes, it can be tricky, but what I like to do is... if there's a sprite from the game I can reference (Although completed sprites are hard to find online, so I open my own copy of Heroes), I usually turn to it. Hopefully this'll help! Good luck!
