Haii! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply!
Nobody is born knowing how to do things, including art. That's why we practice and keep going, as long as it makes you happy.
If someone's work looks "bad" after practicing a long time (which is subjective, because it depends on a lot of things, including who you're comparing to) art it's not only how it looks, it's how it feels to the artist and the viewer, and it is a wonderful recreational and healthy emotional tool, I think everyone should engage in art if they want to.
When it comes to professional artists, it is a market, one must be capable of competing with others, but the most important and amazing thing about art, in the professional world, is its vast variety! There are so many styles, mediums, ideas, and emotions... your art will always resonate with someone, and that is marketable - your number one goal, professionally, is to find those people and let them know you and your work exist. Many amazing artists never "make it" because they don't know (or don't try) how to market themselves.
Anyway, there is a talent factor (like people who are good at maths naturally) - a talented person, with practice, will be better than a "less talented" person who has the same amount of practice... however, a talented artist who does not practice, can be surpassed by the "less talented" who does practice - and, like I said, with the amount of variety, there is always the possibility of success (and, the most talented artist in the world can't make art for every single person) - and it isn't a race, another great thing about art is that you can keep developing it whilst working in other areas to cover for living - many professional artists actually have another profession, and that is not something negative, it is enriching.
If you find yourself making negative comparisons, always remember we all have a different life story and context, some people have more support, time, resources, etc. which does make it easier to focus on, and improve, their craft. On top of that, we all function differently on a mental and emotional level, and that is not something we can change - some thrive in the pressure of stress, whilst others crumble into a ball.
... I ramble a lot. I re-read this several times hahaha. Do what makes you happy, practice, and don't let anyone tell you (not even yourself) that you suck and should give up.
Honestly, a lot of times someone's problem with their art has nothing to do with their abilities, but their mental and emotional state, and since most of us are freelancers, we don't have an exterior force making us get up in the morning and function with a schedule. So see your art not only as the finished drawing, but the entire process and context around it.
I think your work is great and you've definitely improved over the years, by the way :3.
