I'm fine, watching my blue hair dye fade by the day for the final time before I dye it back to my natural hair color XD
Nah, I'm in Indiana, all we got was some rain and sleet, I feel horrible for New York though o.o

I have always wanted to die my hair some crazy color, just for a little bit, but I always chicken out

Sandy hit my area pretty good. Luckily, we are surronded by mountains, so the wind was not bad at all, but there was a lot of flooding. My house is fine due to the amazing drainage system in my neighborhood. Many towns (especially the smalls one right on the river) were not so lucky. A decent amount had to evacuate. They are kinda used to floods, though. Those rivers are wide, but pretty shallow, so they flood often. However, Sandy brought the worst flood this area has seen in 20 years.
This is a picture from near my dad`s house. The bridge crosses over a creek. Normally, from this point on the bridge, you would not see any water whatsoever. That will give you an idea of how much rain we got.
I am from New York (not the city, towards the north-eastern region of the state) and much of my family lives there, too. I know a bunch of them had to leave their homes. From what I have seen, New York City got hit really hard. Those are the people I feel bad for.

I feel sick watching the news every morning, seeing all these people homeless and injured, and listening to the dead count keep rising. I don't think anyone expected Sandy to hit so hard...
New York, I keep seeing pictures of the subways flooded and buildings (and cranes) collapsing, it's insane. I feel so lucky living over here, I just wish there was more we could do to help.
I'm glad you didn't get flooded though, and I'm jealous of the mountains, I've always wanted to live in Colorado or West Virginia. Indiana is beautiful in its own way though, I can't explain it, I guess it's something only a Hoosier would get XD
