Practice and experimentation I suppose.

Observe and learn how everything is drawn in the original source material and then see what works with the available tools you have.
If there is official concept art and guidelines on how everything is drawn then that helps a lot too as you know what rules and methods the original artists/animators followed when drawing these characters in their work.



I'm still learning how to get everything down though (backgrounds in particular are still a big weakpoint of mine) but hopefully I'll get there eventually.

Ok, here are a few that I'm thinking...

Katrielle in her office but she's so tall that she can't stand up in the room.

Another with Katrielle in her office but this time she has grown so much that she has filled it up. A little like the White Rabbit's House scene in Alice in Wonderland.

A very, very tiny Sherl on Katrielle's finger tip and she is looking at him through a magnifying glass.

A very tall Katrielle knocking her head on the top of a door frame.

Katrielle is chasing Rat Man who seems to be the size of an actual rat in comparison to her.

Oh, I have thought of the idea of her being stuck inside her office while huge before.
